Hi Terry,

You look good to me also, but are you getting the emails direct or through

a digest?

How is doing - been meaning to call.

Hi all,

I hope this gets through. I have gone back and made Netscape 4.77

my primary browser and email handler. From time to time - I may forget

as N 6.01 is so much better as a browser, so remind

me. This is what I was using before, so I hope it comes through.

Also let me know if you can see the image above. I am sure some

of you will not see it.

Take care, Bill and Charlotte

That is strange, I could not read what email software you are using

- are you using a version of Netscape Navigator? I thought I had

it figured out as a problem with older versions of Eudora, but now Sheila

is using a recent version of MS OE and you are using something else - so

Yahoo must be treating it as an attachment - I will stay with Netscape

4.77.

I know they have been treating imbedded images as attachments as many

can not get them. :o) Can't help you there :o) Netscape 4.77

(and 6.01) are free (but both are 12 meg downloads).

Hope this has solved everyone's problems with my emails - write if you

can not read them.

including this:

Have a good day - and for the

Aussies - Ave a g'day mates.

Take care, Bill and Charlotte

I am now using Windows98 second edition, Outlook Express 5.5 and

Internet Explorer 5.5. Before I had the cable installed last week, I

had been using Netscape 4.72, but the software installation with the

cable seems to prefer Internet Explorer. When I started having

problems reading your mail in the digest, I was using Netscape 4.72

and Outlook Express 5.5.

FWIW - for a while earlier this year I was using Windows 2000 ME and

Netscape 6. I had so many problems with Windows 2000 ME and I

decided to revert back to 98. When I did that, I also installed

Netscape 4.7 instead of version 6.

I think I said this before, but there is a belief in the Information

Technology industry that you never use new releases of software until

they have been in the field for long enough to be regarded as

stable. For those who don't understand what I mean - if I have

version 2.4 of a particular product, and then 2.5 becomes available,

okay, I will upgrade, but when version 3 comes out, then I wait. It

is my belief that many vendors, especially Microsoft, are happy to

release products that they have tested to a degree and then let the

users find the real bugs.

Before I had cable, the digest was the way for me to read the emails

but now I have cable, I am finding it easier to go straight in to

Yahoo.

Have a nice day y'all

I too tried Netscape 6.0 and dumped it when it first came out and even when

they sent me the first update. But everyone was telling me that 6.01 was

great and took advantage of the high speed DSL line I now have. It does!

Netscape is about 30-40% faster than netscape 4.77 on downloads (average

speed on 4.77 is about 50-55 k per second and on 6.01 it has reached 70k per

second but generally is in the 65-68 k per sec range). I downloaded Net 4.77

(12 meg) and installed it in less than 4 minutes on 6.01 - it took over 5 to

download it on 4.77 as a test.

However if 4.77 is the only way communicate with the list, I will stick with

it for now at least. I may forget to go back to the 4.77 for email once in a

while so all of you will have to keep me straight.
