Guest guest
My LDN research has been only slightly more extensive, though I did manage to find references to the medical research: http://tinyurl.com/d4ck7t " Low-dose naltrexone therapy improves active Crohn's disease " http://tinyurl.com/d7k9pb " The opioid antagonist naltrexone improves murine inflammatory bowel disease " I came across a variety of discussion boards offering personal opinions and experiences: http://tinyurl.com/dektkl http://tinyurl.com/d3xna4 http://tinyurl.com/dmrust I have not yet tried LDN, but as I finish tapering off of my latest round of Prednisone (to get my UC flare under control) I will probably try to obtain a prescription for LDN as an experiment. Personally, having been on SCD for 5 months now, I am willing to give it 2 to 3 years to work, but in the meantime if there is an alternative to Prednisone steroid to keep my UC flares in remission then I'll try it... and LDN is supposedly a drug with very little side effects. cmd@... Re: [ulcerative_Colitis] Re: Recent (and ongoing) LDN IBD findings I just spent about 15 minutes looking up LDN and was unable to find really anything other than anecdotal sites saying it has no side effects and works great. If you have an actual medical site that discusses it, I'd like to look at it, but sorry, it's hard to give credibility to something that appears to not really have any documentation. As far as your comments about remicade never working, if that's the argument, then there are NO drugs that " work " for UC, because there are no drugs that cure UC. All drugs carry the possibility that they won't work after a certain time frame. That doesn't mean they just don't work. It means that the disease is very individual, and what works long-term for one person might not work for another. I've been on Colazal for 3 1/2 years, and have been in remission for most of that time. If I have a flare up, that doesn't mean that Colazal didn't work at all. It most certainly has.
