Can't help you with Derby contacts at all I'm afraid but just thought I'd

say that we have friends in Sutton -in-A (well Teversall actually)

He is the Curate at Skegby, Stanton Hill & Teversall, so we are in your neck

of the woods reasonably often!

Welcome Simone

I don't know much about eczema, we appear to have avoided it - touch wood

but I know that oily fish such as sardines are an excellent source of

calcium if you're trying to avoid dairy products.

> *Could my diet affect her eczema through breast milk? I went on a

dairy free, wheat free diet (not easy, believe me) for about 10 days

(v.v. difficult, believe me) and it seemed to have an effect, but I

can't really prove it

Hi,

Someone on here will have a copy of the dairy-free diet sheet

published in New Digest, the publication for NCT specialist workers a

year or more ago. It gives alternative sources of calcium.

*If someone doesn't have it can they request on BFC list for it?*

A friend of mine did a dairy free diet when her son developed eczema.

I gave her a copy of the diet and she found it incredibly helpful but

everything was done under her GP's guidance (and her DH is also a GP).

She had to go a long time without dairy though.

Good luck - I don't know much about all this but hope someone can

help.

Hi,

My name is and I have an almost 13 year old daughter, Lynn,

with cf. I have 2 sons, (9) and Josh (6) who don't have cf but are

carriers. About 4 years ago we decided that we really wanted to have

another child and started trying to get pregnant. But my body didn't

cooperate, and then we heard about a fertility clinic in a nearby state

that could screen embryos for cystic fibrosis (pre-implantation genetic

diagnosis), and so we decided to give it a try. The short version of our

very long story is that our first IVF was successful. The clinic

biopsied 8 embryos and transferred 4 embryos that had no genes for cf,

and I got pregnant. To our huge shock at the first ultrasound we found

out that I was *really* pregnant, and we were having triplets. For a

long time we felt like we'd jumped out of the frying pan (cf) into the

fire (triplet pregnancy). Our babies were born very early (at 29 weeks)

but we have been blessed and they're doing great. Things have finally

calmed down enough here that I felt like it was time for me to pay a

little more attention to cf again, so here I am. Also, if anyone ever

has any questions about the pre-implantation diagnosis procedure, I'm

more than happy to answer any questions or share any info I can. Things

are still pretty hectic here so if you do have questions please e-mail

them to me at crayz2sew@... --it's hard to get time to read

everything some days!!

,

We also did PID but non of our embryos(6) were successful. Three had cf,

one wasn't sure and the other two did survive freezing. I'm very glad it

worked for you as there is so much messing around to get to the end result.

I bet you've got your hands ful but its wonderful they are all healthy.
