Guest guest
I was just reading again in Dr. Norm Shealy's book about ways to boost DHEA levels without taking it directly (which he only advocates in serious illness anyway) So he said that sex and climaxing will raise DHEA. So I did some other research and sure hope this doesn't offend anybody but here's what else I found: BTW- Dr. Norman Shealy who is a TOP alternative MD in this country advocates climaxing by yourself if you don't have a partner in order to raise DHEA and longevity.... The ultimate release There are many chemical reactions that occur within our bodies and many of them will happen when we experience orgasm. Right before sexual climax, the level of DHEA in the body spikes to several times its normal level. DHEA is a natural steroid hormone known to improve brain function, the cardiovascular system, fat metabolism, boost the immune system, and promote healthy-looking skin. It is even said to possess anti-aging properties. The benefits of orgasm also include the release of oxytocin, a hormone that acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain. It is believed to be involved in bonding or social recognition, and also the formation of trust between people. The hormone oestrogen is also released when the body achieves orgasm. A study by behavioral endocrinologist, Dr. Winifred Cutler, indicates that women who engage in weekly sexual activity have higher levels of oestrogen in their blood, which can lead to a healthier cardiovascular system, lower bad cholesterol, increase the level of good cholesterol, add to bone density and give you suppler skin. According to Dr. Cutler, regular sexual activity can also regulate a womans menstrual cycle. Guest guest
Interesting; Dr Norm Shealy's book says his magnesium lotion will do that too. I've been using it now for 3 months and still my DHEA is 38 (as per lab 2 weeks ago) Re: raising DHEA Magnesium oil will also raise DHEA levels. Guest guest
<<A study by behavioral endocrinologist, Dr. Winifred Cutler, indicates that women who engage in weekly sexual activity have higher levels of oestrogen in their blood, >> Interesting all the different theories....my husband and I have a healthy active sex life, but my hormone levels are all extremely low! And taking HC lowered my DHEA and testosterone even more...so not sure what is going to help raise them, I am using DHEA cream now. I was using 5-10 mg a day but was feeling irritable and fatigued, dropped it to 2.5 mg and started back on my progesterone cream and that has seemed to work better. The thing with hormones is everyone reacts differently, so really, no on can tell you what will work for you. It is all trial and error. It is best to start with as low a dose as possible and work up gradually. And start with one hormone at a time. My dr. gave me a combination of stuff and it messed me up. So, now I start one at a time and then you know for sure what is working and what isn't. Also, very important to have lab work done first so you know what's low and what's not before you start experimenting. Anyway, just my 2 cents!
