Guest guest
My Dear Friends, Since my post a few days ago there is more news to report. Afer almost four months of no aphib it returned this morning and just stopped after 9 hours. Yes I did have to march down the steps in aphib today in " La Boheme " . So my hopes are that this is the last time I have aphib. It would be a nice thing to be in the 85th percentile of cured after the first ablation. Life cretainly has been great without dealing without aphib for four months. Belssings to all...and don't rush out and get an ablation yet...will keep you informed. Guest guest
: A couple of questions. 1. First, as a big fan of opera, what were you doing in La Boheme? 2. When did you do the ablation, and what was your general experience during the first three months? Thanks Joe Post PVA report four months and aphib returns My Dear Friends, Since my post a few days ago there is more news to report. The ablation was performed on July 28, 2004. Initial feelings were VERY tight chest when inhaling. Very weak. There was a two month recovery period. One scary morning I lost my vision but it returned. That same kind of thing happened last weekend. After two months I returned to a full performance schedule. The first two weeks after ablation were full of skipped beats off and on and in the second week I had two episodes(10 hrs long?)two days apart of aphib. After that 20-50 skipped beats a day until recently when the aphib episodes have returned. Last Saturday and now as I write I am in an episode which awoke me from sleep. The stress of a performance seemed to cause the episode last weekend. The episode right now could be due to an exciting Thanksgiving Day. Best wishes and blessings... Guest guest
Hi : What do your docs say about the recurring Afib. From what have read and the experience of others, there is a period, after PVA, during which one may experience skipped beats and even AFib. Is it three months, or perhaps six? After that, if episodes of Afib persist you have two options: Either a second, " touch Up " ablation, or continue with meds. The second of these options (meds) very much depends on how you feel now compare to the pre-ablation period? I am in the middle of second month after ablation and except for a short episode I suffer mostly from those premature and skipped beats hoping that they too will subside and disappear. In the meantime I continue to work (but fewer hours) and enjoy music (mostly opera). The last Boheme I saw was last year in Berlin (the Deutsche Opera) and it was a magnificent production. All the best to you, Joe Re: Post PVA report four months and aphib returns > : > > A couple of questions. > > 1. First, as a big fan of opera, what were you doing in La Boheme? > > 2. Guest guest
Hi , this might sound a bit crazy but do you think it's worth having an EKG done whilst your are playing your trumpet? I really hope it's not the case but the lack of regular breathing might be exacerbating the problem. Maybe trumpet players need a little longer to recover? You might like to do some web searching on 'respiratory sinus arrhythmia' All the best. -- D
