The shoes that have been provided by the orthopedists at the U of
Iowa are Markell Tarso Open Toe Boots, model #1644.

When we started in the FAB/DBB, I was concerned about where to get
the Markell shoes a

>d so looked in the yellow pages under orthopedic
shoes and called a couple of the local listings. I found two local
suppliers who could get them, but instead we always got our new shoes
from the U of Iowa's American Prosthetics office

>

The Markell Shoe web site shows 2 types of their open toe shoes but
not the model #1644 which only has one strap. They can be seen at
site has a phone number or a way to ask where the closest provider is
to your location.

You can also contact the U of Iowa provider named Don Shur at
American Prosthetics at or dshur

> @ inav.net He would
be glad to mail you a pair with the U-shaped insert all set. We
found that this was the easiest way for us to get the new shoe sizes.

I hope this helps.
