Alfred,

My PVA was $53K, but my insurance company, Harvard Pilgrim, only paid $23K.

Because that's what they had allotted for PVA's. The hospital took it and that

was the end of it.

I paid for parking.

  • 2 weeks later...

I had my PVA done successfully (I am Afib-free since!) in June 2003 in

Bordeaux and the total bill amounted to less than EUR 10,000.- (about

$9000.- at the time)

of which about two third was paid by my medical insurance in Holland.

Maybe it is wise for you Americans to fly first class to Bordeaux (it

is only 7-9 hours flight) and still spare a enormous amount of money!

And the best thing is that the team in Bordeaux (Prof Haissaguerre and

Dr, Jais) is the most experienced PVA team in the world. The virtually

invented the treatment and are still doeing about 2 treatments eaxh

working day.

Cheers,

Hi Frits, I am really happy that your PVA went well. I too went to France

in May 2000 under prof H and Dr Jais. If you could spare some time, it would

be useful for the board if you can give a few Lines on what your impression

of the procedure and what sort of PVA you had in Bordeaux.

Many thanks

Hi ,

Thanks for the kind words! I am glad your experinece was positive as

well. I have already reported a few times in the past on this board

about my (positive) experiences with the treatment I got in Bordeaux.

I got only a few reactions on those. All can be found on the Yahoo

groups website for Afibsupport.

If you or other people want to know more, please let me know.

Regards,

Frits Polak
