Sue,'

Gosh where to start.

I don't really panic or have anxiety about these things. I just get to the

middle of the bridge and go wow that's alot of water. I wonder if ? What

could I do if this happens? What would I do if that happens. You know there

are things I can do maybe I will work on that. I dont go Oh theres a bridge

theres water we're going to die!!! It's much more sane than that. And I

crossed those bridges all the time without fear or any trouble. It is a

boring drive and I have attention deficit so I live in a tornado of

thoughts.

I just think about things and what I can do to compensate. Ya know Be

Prepared. I don't have a fear of dying but I am protective of my kids.

When I panic or have anxiety ithas a neurological response and I dont have

that in these situations.

Yes I am worse in cold weather so I guess its good to be in the desert. And

I did'nt plan that really I didn't.

Hi Sue,

Yes, the cold makes you feel like the Tin Man. So you're not alone. I live in

New York so when it's really cold I wear fur, flannels, pants, boots so that at

least I can move some. Hope this helps.

God Bless

Yolanda

Jeanette, I am 64 soon to be 65.

Sue Ellen, thanks for the info.

Shell, have you always had these fears (and gone to such extent to handle

them)? After the PSL started, and before I knew what was wrong, I was having

panic attacks. I saw myself falling down the mountain side or falling in front

of cars in the road. Everywhere I went I saw myself falling in some dangerous

way. I suppose it was because I was falling a lot for what seemed no reason. I

was also having crying spells where I would cry uncontrollably for little or no

reason. I finally talked to my doctor and got a prescription for Celexa and the

crying and panic attacks have stopped.

I normally have a positive attitude and do not look for, or think about, bad

things happening. Of course one has to be sensible, but it is too stressful and

hard on your body to be constantly worrying.

To the general PLS population. Are you worse in cold weather? When it gets

cold and raining I can hardly get my legs to move.

Hi Sue:

I am in the same boat as Dale. The cold weather makes me stiffen up and

the heat exhausts me. No happy medium I guess!!!!!

Hi Shell,

I know exactly what you mean about those bridges, I really hated those

tunnels in Portsmouth and VA. Beach, they always freaked me out when I went in

them. I've flown coast to coast and around the world 3 times. Now if I can't

drive I ain't going.Me and heights don't get along either. As far as the shot

gun, that is the best all around burglar gun there is. 1, you want hardly find

anybody that would argue with a shot gun. 2, all you got to do is point and

shoot and your more than likely going to hit it and 3, least likely to kill your

neighbor next door. Now if you want something to put in your car that you can

grab and waylay someone with, get you a 3 or 4 ft. piece of 3/4 or 1 inch pvc

sch. 40 pipe. First, it's light and second, it cuts when you hit. I watched an

ol boy wear this guy out with a piece of that pipe on a job one time. Of course

they were kidding around and the other guy didn't think that pipe would do all

that, so the other guy just had to show him. Ever since then he would carry a

piece of that pipe with him. As far as being afraid when you go places, I've

done some jobs in some very bad neighborhoods, like the projects and Memphis has

some bad ones, I would be scared in side but I learned real quick, most of the

time if you don't show fear, they will not mess with you. As far as the dope

heads, same thing, you kind of give them the additude that you don't want

trouble but there isn't going to be none either, if you kind of get my drift. I

know with you being a sweet and proper lady and such, it's hard to be tough,

but, it's a tough world out there. So no, your not being peranoid, your being

SMART. Boy Scout Motto Be Prepared

Hey Bart the pipe should be Schedule #40 or 80 as CPVC will shatter too easy

Make sure you put some duct tape at the end for a grip as if you swing hard it

might slide out of your hand .and dont hit something hard or it'll shatter like

glass some guys have screwed drywall screws in the end points sticking out

anything coming in contact with them will be ripped up very bad .Years ago lead

service pipe was the weapon of choice . You Guys need to remember a saying a

wise man once said .THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITS SELF .(ps) the

smaller pipes made good horns too if you hold your lips right LOL LOL GEO
