Guest guest
Bobbi, Over the years I have lost the muscles between my thumb and pointer finger. The OT I went to suggested I do daily excerises to help this like picking up pennies, small objects. Even squeezing therapy putty. It has helped with strengthening my hands but no muscle improvement.....Flora
Guest guest
Dale This not going back to work is called retirement .Yes there is an adjustment period .but work friends can help you adjust but that never happens ..Their jealous that they have to get up and go back to work every day and you just set at home .First thing you do is use your brain to think of new things to fill your day (KEEP YOUR MIND BUSY ON POSSITIVE THINGS) GEO hands > Hi everyone > Just wondering if anyone out there has any atrophy in their hands. I'm told that only happens with lower neurons, but I've had 2 emgs the last recently and they were both negative. I have had weakness in my right hand a couple of years and recently the muscle between my thumb and index finger is fading away making it difficult to write or lift anything. Is this possible with pls? My doctor has given me a final diagnosis of pls since emgs were negative an have had symptoms for 5 yrs. now. > Thanks Bobbi ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guest guest
Bobbi, I also have some atrophy of my hands, the muscle between the thumb and finger. But it doesn't seem to be getting worse, or if it is, it is very slow. With time you stop worrying about the changes. You can't do anything about them anyway.
