Zach an Rikki-Lee

Hi everyone

Well guess what. I was sitting at home this afternoon, facing

another evening alone, when a car pulls up the driveway and in

through the front door walks Zach, closely followed by Lance and

Rikki-Lee.

AWESOME suprise! Zach was allowed to come home for a few hours

between IVs, he is looking better but still coughing up a lot of

gunk. Not sure how long he will be in for yet. Rikki-Lee had her

bone marrow test this morning. They did this to rule out anything

serious like lukemia or whatever. But it was OK. They are pretty

sure that her red blood cell count will come back up by itself. They

said this can sometimes happen and it basically fixes itself. But

they are going to keep an eye on it and she has to go back to

hospital on Monday for another blood test to see if it is getting

worse or better or what. I am still pretty worried about her but I

am feeling a bit better about it. I am glad she is home at least for

a few days. And it was so good to see my boy. (oh and Lance too)LOL

This is something I just thought I would share with you all.

You know when your kids are in hospital and they put their names on

the board at the nurses station and outside their door to their

room. Well anyway. Zach has a nickname in hospital that all the

nurses call him and when they write his name on the board they

write " Zach 'sixpack' Walton " . Because they reckon he has the best

set of abs they have ever seen. Zach reckons that is the one good

thing to come out of his CF. All the coughing has given him an

awesome set of abs. He is very lucky all the nurses at the hospital

treat him like a king. They are an awesome bunch and I am very

grateful to them all. We have lost a lot of our favorite ones

because they have all gotten pregnant and left on maternity leave but

they will be back sooner or later. They don't just look after the

child that is sick they look after the whole family and I can';t

thank them enough for that. CF does not just affect the person that

has it, it affects everyone.

Anyway enough babble for now. I will sleep well tonight now that at

least one of my family is back at home.
