Guest guest
a, the Pred that you have been on has very probably supressed your adrenal funciton. Even taperiong off it CAN make the adrenals weak and not want to come back to functional. When cortiosl goes this low, all thyroid stops getting to the cells as the receptors need cortiso fgor thyroid to enter. Thus blood levels of thyrodi LOOK normal or even high while the cells are starving for thyroid. MOST doctors do not understand this! They see hgh blood levels of thyrod and say you are fine, take an antidepressant. When all you really need is enough cortisol to allow the thyroid into the cells. Hang in there til you get your labs . Hopefully they will show an acurate picture and you can get the meds you need. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
I have seen many and they all go by blood test results and when I > mention low cortisol they are not interetsed.> a, in response to Val's post about the thyroid not going to the cells...one way to prove this is to have your doc test your reflexes or better yet if they have a machine that measures the timing of your reflex (usually the annal docs have this machine). But even with slow reflexes, they might be resistant to interpreting it as hypoT. This is why I only go to ND's, they are a bit better with looking at symptoms rather than labs. Guest guest
Sounds like from your symptoms you might consider looking into taking natural thyroid hormone. You say you just have " had low thyroid " ...depression, crying, emotional, unbased reasoning...ALL low thyroid symptoms. Once these are addressed you will see a big change if it is your thyroid. I wouldnt wait...I recommend starting with Armour. The sleeping, tiredness, fibromyalgia symptoms....everything you've stated ties in to low thyroid function. Our bodies use thyroid hormone FOR EVERYTHING!!!! The thyroid has its own blood supply to the heart indicating HOW important thyroid hormones are to the entire body. Guest guest
Val, Thanks for the feedback. Today a a tad better. I am so upset with the doctors. I am trying to fnd one that will take insurance, but in reality I get real answers and quality information from you and other members. Most doctors I tell abiut Adrenal Exhaustion they do NOT want to deal with it. They are like way too many things off with my system to handle. Some I print out the articles and bring in and the have an aha moment. I am usually real nice , but man og mighty I am SO done with oh it will get better. It has honestly only gotten worse. Not to be negative, just reality. I feel once I know what I am dealing with I can get my butt in gear with the Gluten eating. I started probiotics again, does not feel like it does too much , but then again maybe it is not suppose to feel anything. I do not feel stomach issues, but I am sure I do as I back up quick. My Pdoc highered my Lamicatal , but I feel when the HC and Armour is on board I will not need Celexa . The less psyh medication , the better, but only if I feel stable when the adrenals and low thryoid get better. Val, thanks agailn for your understanding while I am at such a weepy mode. As most can relate here, I feel like the last four years I am passed off to this doc and then to that. One says I have this the other says take this. If one does not feel nutty prior to all the docs they will after lol If my doctor tries to sell me ANYTHING nexy visit I will NOT purchase it and wiat to talk it overf with all you. I overheard is wife the other day when I dropped by the office to have the nursw show me how to do the B-12 shot and the wife was telling someone over the phone that the doctor has fund for peopke that can not afford the whole visit. Niow she is fully aware I am on SSI and limited on funds. I am only staying with this doctor until I cn afind another that will address adrenals etc.. I also layed out too much money to start a new intergrative doc for a first time consultation that runs anywhere from $200 -$400.
