Guest guest
How is it going today Sunday? I can identify with going nuts in the hospital. I was really Ill and can't remember too much of the first 7 days. My appendix busted at home and the local small town hospital kept me for 8 hours before sending me to my MITO Dr. Hospital in Boston.I kept telling them to but they would not listen. My Mito DR. finally convinced them I needed to be with him to have the surgery. It was nuts. Got to the local hospital at 8:50am and at 6:30pm they sent me to Boston 30 miles away where my Dr. was. I didn't get out of recovery until 2am and a bed in Acute CARE around 3am or something. On the third day I spiked a fever of 104.3 or something. Bad infection. They took the staples out and did a wet to dry (heal from the inside out) which as a mito person I didn't think the hole would ever close. LOL. It still has not closed completly. Surgery was Sunday October 26th, 2004. It's March. LOL Yeah, needles. I had so many and IV's that I could not wash my arms for at least a month with all the bruses. I got c-diff while in the hospital. Very Contagous intestine germ. I lost 21 pounds by the time I got home. Then the visiting nurses. OMG. LOL. It was the biggest nightmare of my life. So now when I hear hospital, EEEEKKKKKKKK. Thats why I wanted to say HEY, hang in there. I am so glad your home. With my brain damage from the stroke 5 years ago I didn't even know I was home. My sister said I kept walking around slowly and saying I LIVE HERE? Over and over. Had night mares for about 6 weeks. I am just now coming around to feeling a bit better. 30% of accute apendix cases live. That third night when I spiked the fever I knew it was over for me. I said my prayers to God to take me home. Then I remember starting to laugh talking to God outloud and saying: After all I have gone through, the stroke, cogintive therapy for 9 months 5 days a week, six hours a day, then finding out MITO caused Stroke, then dealing with MITO ect....your taking me out with accute appendix. I found this really funny. Well I lived , don't understand why????? More will be revealed I suppose. Hope you have lots of people to help you HEAL. Lots of Love to surround you, and good naps and rest. I pray you sleep with the angels everynight. Peaceful Healing Sleep. Guess I am not over my 17 day stay or I would not have written so much. Thanks for reading. It is healing to be valadated.I still don't spell well. Sorry. Take Good CARE. Peace, KimGo'sWithFeathers
Guest guest
Kim, I was reading your note to Bug and I just wanted to say that through everything you've been through - you managed to maintain your great sense of humor. It sounds like you're a survivor. Despite the odds, you've not only survived, but survived more in tact than you probably know. I have a feeling that given time, you'll be seeing more of your old self returning. Take care, Maggie > How is it going today Sunday? > I can identify with going nuts in the hospital. Guest guest
Wow Kim what an adventure you've been on ! The one thing that Mito and Lupus have taught me is patience. Just getting a dx was one of the longest roads I've traveled. This is just another road and I'm hoping there is a nice bench to sit on at the end Today I felt like I had a little more energy...good to be back on the Q10 since the hospital can't get it. Wish the breathing was better but I understand it can take quite a while. I appreciate the prayers. Hugs, bug
