Guest guest
Just wanted to add my thanks to/for those of us who met up in Pittsburgh - , , (and Mom!), Angie, Robin - I think I'm forgetting somebody (sorry!). It was great to finally put faces with names and have a chance to talk, offline, about our kids and who we are/what we do. For those who were unable to go - it was a terrific conference with tons of information, ideas, and, most importantly, understanding. Ditto 's email that the information (hand-outs) should be available at apraxia-kids.com at some point - it is well worth the effort to download or print-off the hand-outs. If anyone wants more info on sessions from the conference, just let me (us?) know. It's taken me three days to clear off my desk at work and two days to clean up the stuff dh and Josh left around the house while I was gone - yikes! What is it with men - it really isn't that hard to wash dishes, is it? Sherry
Guest guest
Ditto to that Sherry! I'm STILL cleaning up the house from my absence and...the office, Ugghh! I have had to work 12 hr days every day since my return just to catch up! My poor kids are forgetting what I look like at this point - The most I have been able to see them has been three hours Sunday night when I finally got home -- I'm just feeling sorry for myself & kids right now...after tomorrow things should be back to normal (I pray!) I have to say though...my husband has a totally new appreciation for me after having taken care of the boys for the 3 1/2 days I was gone. I even had a big " WELCOME HOME MOMMY " written all over the driveway in sidewalk chalk waiting for me when I got home - gotta love it! I didn't get to talk to you or the others as much as I would have liked to but I agree, it was great putting a face with the name. Like I told you when I met you, LOVED the orange hat idea!! I think you said it was your son's idea. Tell him he did good!! I knew who you were before I actually got to introduce myself. That was pretty smart thinking on his part. We Georgia people got together and seemed to be glued at the hip!! We couldn't tear away from each other and we plan on getting our families together soon!! We all said if there was a way to physically get around to everyone there and hear their child's story and tell your's as well, we would have. It was all so overwhelming at times. I don't know about you guys but the one very thing I got out of this conference is a feeling of hope and calmness that with all the hard work of my son's therapists, our family, myself, and of course, my son he will get through this. There is hope and I forsee a wonderful future for Cameron!!! Again, it was great meeting you and , I hope you are reading this as well. You were the first conference parent I met on the ride to the hotel from the airport. It was nice talking with you and thanks again for the cherab picture!! I am keeping it in Cameron's folder as another momento!! It was also nice to meet your mom!! That was wonderful of her to be there as a second pair of ears and notetaker (ha-ha) but most of all for the support!! She was a very nice lady!! I enjoyed meeting all of you and hope we can be together " physically " again. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that if you were unable to attend the conference you were there in our thoughts and your children were right beside our own in our hearts. I would be glad to share any info about the conference if needed. The hard part would be, where do you start?? I don't post as often as some but I'm always " here " so don't hesitate to ask. Talk to you all soon, Robin, Atlanta GA. Mommy to Cameron 3.8 apraxia and Cara 2 NEXT MONTH!! Possibly a " late talker " > > > > > >
