I really feel for you honey. Yes, I went through it and it was

horrible. I've been scoped 5 times and dilated 3 times. I also know

what it's like to not be listened to. My Dr. and all of his staff

kept telling me that it was normal to be nauseous and vomiting.

After 3 1/2 months he finally ordered my first scope and I was

dilated. The nausea went away but then came back. After the third

dilation it was gone. Now I'm starting to get tiny twinges of nausea

when I eat and it's very disconcerting. I don't mind getting scoped

again and also dilated I just don't know how many times this

procedure can be done without doing damage to the stoma.

Hang in there and I'll be praying for you.

Love and Hugs,

Roe

Roe...thanks for your reply. I hate to say it, but I am glad to know

someone else has dealt with this. I woke up in recovery deathly ill,

they wheeled me back to my room holding a pan to throw up in. It

took me the first month before he would even believe I was throwing

up and finally did when I did it right in front of him. I have had

trouble getting my phone calls returned, I am starting to think that

since I am not the " perfect case " they don't want to deal with me.

I'm like you, I don't mind the scope, but I have missed so much work

since I went back from being ill that it's not even funny. I am

going to give this new doctor the benefit of knowing what he is doing

and will go through with the next 3 scopes and see what happens.

Thanks again for responding.

I was thinking more in terms of necessity. I cannot clip my toenails

so I think I'll use the drimel (spell??) tool (thanks Geo). I would

like to paint my toenails too, but how do you get your foot up to

paint yours? My foot always slides away that's why I can't clip

them. Maybe Ronnie could tell me how to tie my calf to the back of

my thigh. LOL, but I'm serious. My left hand is also weak, so I

can't clip the nails on my right hand.

Thanks for responding,

,

On a serious note: I take a B vitamin complex tablet every morning and

B12 2000mcg SR daily. Also prescribed by my neuro, the B12, anyway. I

also take Selenium, 200 mcg daily, Beta Carotene 25,000 IUs, Vit E 1000

IUs, Flaxseed Oil 1000 mg, CoQ10 150 mg, Vit C 1000 mg and a Calcium,

Magnesium and Zinc supplement. Most of them have something to do with

increased circulation, nervie conduction and regeneration and fighting

free radicals. I do exercise when I can, but not as much as I used to. I

have lifted light weights for legs, back, arms, shoulders and legs. I

also have ridden a stationary bicycle for 20 to 45 minutes daily. My

progression has been very slow. I don't believe this is cause and

effect, however. I have no real proof of this, but it has worked for me

so far and I intend to continue. I may add some creatinine when I start

exercising again, since I have experienced some muscle atrophy lately.

Hi

I went to Curves for Women for 2 1/2 years, started 2 years after

symptoms started when I was put off work. I went 5x a week until my

left leg started going into spasms before I could finish my 30

minutes. On stopping I immediately started with a Pilates tape for

exercise. That's great especially for getting some of your balance

back but stupid me sprained my neck doing the abs part.

Now I'm trying the Ab Lounge...yes I ordered it from TV. It's been

two weeks so far and its doing what its supposed to. I can make it

aerobic, bottom line there is no stress on the leg or the neck.

Did you read my post a few weeks ago where they found female ALS mice

when giving exercise daily increased their survival rate...but not

the males? It's attributed to exercises increasing female hormones

in the females which are neuroprotective.

I'm on the wing of anti-oxidant studies where we take CoQ10, Vit E,

Vit C and creatine. I was told of another wing that does the Vit Bs

and Folic Acid.

Hope that helps

Hi All ...

I know this has probably been asked and answered a million times, but how much

more dangerous are PVCs than PACs? I've just spent 3 hrs in Urgent Care. I

knew I wasn't exactly in a-fib as my rate stayed low and was pretty regular on

my " beeping watch " ... but you could hear the skipped beats. They said I was in

and out of a-fib, though during the EKG strip I was in NSR (the monitor

afterward showed the in and out). As I was leaving (they couldn't really do

anything except rule out imminent death) the doctor said that ventricular stuff

is more dangerous than atrial stuff, even PVCs, so to " keep an eye on it " and

" report any runs of it " ... like, hello? I'm here because it's been going on

since Wednesday afternoon. With all else that's going on with me personally (I

had to put my very ill cat to sleep on Wednesday morning) and medically (spleen

definitely coming out, lymphoma still a possibility, fear a constant), I do NOT

need this new development.

Any knowledge, support, encouragement appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks, Brenta ... I'm sure running on empty emotionally these days. Trying

to have courage and all that. I'm on the 3rd day of the PVCs ... very

disconcerting. Similar to the a-fib feeling, but worse because I get these

waves of

light-headedness. I was gonna clean my house today which has been neglected

due to the stress and fear I've been under and all the crying I've done the

past couple weeks ... and now I have no energy to do it. Am being a slug and

feeling bad about that as well. But it's good to know they aren't as dangerous

as was hinted at in Urgent Care. Though they did send me back to work in the

same condition, so I figured they weren't that worried. I'm just SICK of all

this stuff ... I know you all understand. I'll be back up soon I'm sure!

Toni, I too have had runs of PVCs when I have been very ill or stressed, but

my doctors say not to worry--everyone has them at times.I went to the ER

with them one time and nobody got terribly excited there either. And in

fact, a number of people I know with no heart disease do tell me they have

them from time to time. Although PVCs can be very disconcerting mine

usually don't last but a few hours at a time and do not happen for very many

days--certainly not after my illness/stress level have improved. Perhaps as

your stress is reduced they will go away, but I agree you certainly don't

need anything else to worry about right now!

Good luck,

Brenta

Toni, first I want to offer my condolences on the loss of your cat. You have

been under a lot of emotional stress. I think it's a good sign that you even

thought of cleaning your house. Maybe if you can take on one part of one

room and then rest. See how you feel. You are not a slug at all. You have

been

dealing with a lot! On second thought, why not give yourself a break, forget

about cleaning, and instead do something really nice for yourself (go to a

spa to get your nails done or a massage or a facial, or whatever would make you

feel relaxed and make you feel a bit better)?

I started having frequent PVC's as well as ventricular trigeminy and

ventricular quadrigeminy a few years ago. My EP raised my dose of Toprol and

that

took care of it. (I was still having them, but couldn't feel them.) This was

all during a time that I was emotionally overburdened. I stayed on the higher

dose of Toprol until recently -- when starting Dofetilide my Toprol was reduced

by half because my rate was so slow at rest (in the low 40's). I was afraid

that the ventricular arrhythmias would re-appear, but they did not. I think

they will go away as you move along with everything you're dealing with. Are

you presently taking any betablockers? Anyhow, I want you to know that I feel

for you. Those PVC's are very disconcerting. I still have one or two on a

daily basis, but haven't had a run of them for quite awhile, thank goodness.

Are you able to sleep? Do they wake you up? Take care, Sandy
