Guest guest
Welcome back Jeannie, Sounds like you were able to cope with the reunion, its nice to go to those gatherings and be able to see family you havent seen for awhile. God bless to you too. Sandy I'm back Hello Group, I'm back home in New Jersey after going down to Virginia for a family reunion on the 4th. of July......97 of us made it and it was great to see the majority of my aunts/uncles and cousins on my mother's side of the family. It was the first time most of them got to see my PLS walk. I wasn't sure how I would feel with that many people watching me all at once, but I just bit the bullet, and did what I needed to do and everything worked out fine. I think meeting Ronnie in West Virginia the Wed. before helped alot to. She is such an inspiration to me. She has such a positive attitude with all she has been through over the years. Here I was whining and throwing my walker down the driveway a few weeks ago, feeling bad about what I couldn't do anymore. After spending a few hours with Ronnie I came away with a new perspective about this whole PLS experience and I can't thank her enough. Now I appreciate what I still can do and focus more on that, than what I used to could do. Thanks Ronnie for being you. And thanks to this group, for you each have helped me to take another step on this jouney. God Bless you all..........Jeannie/nj

Guest guest
Hi Val and everyone... I have been off the boards for a while. I was feeling much better and had stopped my Cortef back in February. Well, this summer I've had some stress going on and the doctor has been trying to talk me into taking Cortef again for fatigue. I didn't want to (don't like to take anything) but I finally agreed after trying another round of licorice, b & C vitamins. I am taking 5 mg at 5 am, 2.5 at about 10 am, 2.5 at 3 pm and 2.5 at bedtime for a total of 12.5mg per day. It has helped in that I don't want to stay in bed and hide. I have started exercising again and getting much more done. I haven't had any low blood sugar episodes with the exercise since starting the Cortef. I have been on the Cortef for about 3 weeks. This week I am having trouble sleeping. I am waking up really early and last night seems as though I tossed and turned all night. I have also gained about 4 pounds. Now I wonder if I need to dose differently, or stop altogether. Any thoughts from anyone? Thanks Beebe
Guest guest
With that low dose I bet you do nto need the bedtime dose. That is usually only needed when you have some supression during the day from the dosing usually when people get to 20MG or higher. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
