You sound like me and I am hypoadrenal hypo everything.

Usually you can determine adrenal status without the saliva based on

self testing, body temps and symptoms. The fact that the pred picked

you up is an indicator that you need adrenal help.

I am not sure high DHEA means low cortisol. MY dtr's test was low DHEA

and low cortisol.

Do you feel really good when you drink coffee. Like normal, energetic,

well functioning? This means your adrenals are not working.

Also check your pupil reactivitiy with a flash light. Do they stay

constricted in the dark? Or do they fluctuate and struggle to

constrict only to get larger again? Also equals adrenal fatigue.

Endos' don't seem to know jack from what I have learned. Neither do

regular docs (sorry docs but that's my experience).

I would emphasize to that doc who is doing the blood test that you

felt well on pred which indicates you need hydrocortisone therapy.

(not more pred though).

This all sounds familiar to me as well. When I have had to take Prednisone

in the past, I feel great, and I had a very hard time weaning off of it. I

have mentioned this to the last 3 doctors I've seen and they just nod at me.

My primary did get a cortisol blood level and said it was fine. Of course, I

now know that is practically useless. I did check my pupils and they

constricted and then dialate back out again after a few seconds. They don't

flutter and try to constrict again, they just go back to where they were and

my eyes feel weird. I don't feel good when I drink caffine, but I feel

really bad when I don't drink it. I tried the BP test, but I couldn't get

the standing reading. My monitor kept saying error when I tried it standing.
