Guest guest
Humph! I was asking myself this same question today. I'm doing the 's Protocol. When I began my TR T3 treatment, my adrenals took a crap and this new imbalance is not allowing me to feel the beauty of TR T3. Despite the setbacks, I have noticed less brain fog, and greater mental clarity. I can make a mental list for the grocery store rather than bring in a collection of stick-its. Another example--I have a favorite book that I have read over 4 times. After my T3 treatment, I found passages I had no memory of reading before. That alarmed me. The negative? I can't figure out why my tissue is going hypo. My hypo back pain, stiff muscles, mycedema, still tired, etc and I am on 67.5 IU--which is the highest dose that MOST people need. Between my HC and T3, I should be feeling wonderful, the lbs should be falling off, I should be in love with life again but I am not. My brain likes the T3, but my body has not caught up. Word of caution about T3: it is stronger and will demand more cortisol from your body. I thought I was immune from a crash because I had been told my cortisol and DHEA was off the charts. I did not realize I was in the early stage of adrenal fatigue and one crisis or sudden cortisol demand was too much for my adrenals to handle. GET THE 24 HR CORTISOL TEST BEFORE YOU START YOUR T3!! It is not worth it to rush into things. If you need to get some thyroid in your body, stay at a low dose and supplement with adrenal support (listed on STTM) while you wait for your test kit.
