I ended up driving my idiot son to the airport when his ride didn't show up this morning. We left here at 630 to make a 900 Flight. We got to the airport at 840. We almost ran out of gas. Then I took the toll road north so I wouldn't have to go back through the traffic and when I got to the first toll booth I realized I had no money!

Luckily there was enough change in the cup to make the first one but then I had to get off and of course went the wrong way. I finally made it back and got to work at 11.

All I kept saying was it's not a reason to eat!

Anyway I didn't hear from him so I guess he made all his connections ok. Please God he marries this girl quick and gets out of my house. As much as I love my adult children, they are a lot more lovable at a distance.

NOW FOR THE BIG NEWS!!!

My husband called and says "Are you sitting down?"

I am thinking what else can possibly happen. Well FEMA has offered him a PERMANENT job as a safety officer. It's what he has dreamed of ! He would still only be called up when there is an emergency but he would be in the first group called and his job will be finding a suitable headquarters and setting it up and then training the team leaders. It would be for all emergencies not just hurricanes. Tornadoes, fires, earthquakes. Any time FEMA would be called in. He has to accept at least 2 assignments a year and has to have availability of at least 150 days a year. Well that is no problem. He will be transferring to the new section in the next couple of days and will probably be sent to Mississippi. I am so thrilled for him. He has really been stagnating since he retired and all the knowledge and training he has, has never been put to good use. This is just great news. And the pay is unbelievable. So now I have to NOT EAT for JOY and NOT EAT for

Anxiety.
