If you are only testing TSH..it tells what the body was doing 6 weeks ago as it has a lag time.. Taking T4 medication( synthroid) will peak and effect your T4 readings although it is more of a concern on Armour with the direct T3.. Best of luck with the new Endo.. Guest guest
Hi Elaine, IMHO, I always go at the same time of day...8am, before I have had any meds or any food...this way the time is always the same and this gives an 8 plus hour fast to cover any of the other tests that are needing fasting results...I always do it the same...This way there isn't any variables involved and I don't forget. Now, when you ask for these tests be sure to ask for the FREE T4 and the FREE T3...along with the antibodies. Be sure that it is the FREE's that you are getting. Good luck...let us know how it goes... Gossimer > > I joined a while ago and read as much as my mind could handle. Problem > is, I can't remember what you all have said. Guest guest
I just don't take my pill the morning of... if you have your draw scheduled for the morning of, you will not lose as much hormone or have as much stress on your body. do they also check free levels? good luck, lurker with a question I joined a while ago and read as much as my mind could handle. Problem is, I can't remember what you all have said. So I need to ask this question. First of all, I am hypo. When it was discovered my TSH was 112.8. Yep, I was slurring my speech and had no idea why. Family doctor put me on levox. but of course not enough. Last numbers were consistently 4.67. Just 1 test. TSH So I have learned I need to see an endo and they have ordered tests before I see him. They do T4 and T3 and antibodies. Not sure if he believes in Armour but another doctor in the same practice is listed on the site. So I am hopeful. So my question is, how long do I go without my med. before I get the blood work. My last test was right after I took my dose (50) and my number went down to 2.69. I don't want to mess it up again so I am wondering how to proceed.
