I don't know about Ballpark, but the Applegate farms hotdogs are all good.

They have chicken, turkey and beef ones...I think the beef ones taste just

like regular hotdogs. They are all good, though. I think there is another

brand called Shelton's that is a health food store one, no preservatives.

Never tried that one though.

Applegate Farms make wonderful chicken and turkey hotdogs - I give them

to my 2 year old and he loves them. They contain only the meat, some

seasonings and water. No nitrates, nitrites, or other incomprehensible

things that you have to double/triple check. I know they're available at

several HFS in my area. This is a pretty good replacement if you can

find them.

I was giving Nik Ballpark franks also then switched to a nitrate and

antibiotic fee hotdog Applegate Hotdogs and Lunchmeat, I found at Trader Joes

and a couple other HFS.

Maltodextrin (barley malt?) and Potassium lactate sound like trouble.

Better call! Let us know what happens, we don't have access to

Applegate here.
