I've got Hashimoto's hypothyroidism and apparently urticaria also.

I've increased my dosage of Synthroid and am taking Zyrtec and Zantac

(otc dosage). This is driving me CRAZY!!!! I don't wear shorts

outside of my apartment and often have to wear longsleeves to hide my

splotchy arms. My daughter says she likes my legs because she

likes " red polka dots " . Needless to say they are covered with large

and small spots. Can anyone give me something to try to clear this

up so that I can at least wear shorts outside without getting looks

from curious people? Has anybody tried some herbal remedies? Please

help me!!!!!

How much Zyrtec are you taking???? Some of us have to take a lot!

Here's what I take (I've got Hashimoto's also and my hives are simply

horrible first thing in the morning):

I take 20 mg Zyrtec (two) and Zantac 300 mg (this would be two of the

OTC). I take 10 mg of Zyrtec in the afternoon. Then I take 100 mg

of Doxepin at bedtime (a potent antihistimine that is 500X's stronger

than Benedryl).

My hives don't ever go away but they flatten out, and become less

noticable, and less itchy after my morning dose of Z/Z .

How long have you been on synthroid? I just started last week.
