Guest guest
Hi, I am new to this board and I have been listening to the conversation and going through the archives. My daughter is 3 1/2 and has CP. She communicates mainly by signing, but she has started to say some words that only her family and I can understand. I have been very interested in the discussion of EFAs being helpful to kids with speech problems and I decided to start my daughter on it. I went to the Health food store to purchase Pro EFA, and they did not have it, so I got Omega Complete instead. They told me it didn't taste too bad. I tried to give it to my daughter and she threw it up immediatley. I don't know if it is really the taste, because she has always thrown up Tylenol too and I think that tastes pretty good.I can only give her tylenol by suppository. She does not like any kind of juice so I can't try to hide it in that. Does anyone have any advice on what I can put it in that may disguise the texture? I have thought of trying the softgels and trying to get her to swallow them if I can't find a way to get the liquid into her. Any help would be much appreciated!!! - Mom to
Guest guest
I have put it in yogurt and oatmeal without any complaint from my daughter. Guest guest
, Some say that hiding it in a little bit of soda does the job. I think the slimey texture gets that gag reflex going. Sprite might have been a good one, I can't remember. If you do soda, give it a try. Not to rub it in, but my son gobbles it up off the spoon. He's nuts. Guest guest
When my daughter was 3 and 1/2, I put the proefa in yogurt as well, pasta shells (not hot), and on top of fruit such as magno. Now, at 6, she loves the soft gel texture so much, she willingly takes the proefa and just chews it.
