I checked with Culturelle directly after this rumor circulated a

while back. They stand by their guarantee that the product is dairy

and casein free as well as GF. From their website at

www.culturelle.com: The culture is developed in a whey broth (liquid

remaining when cheese is made) and then the whey is completely

removed to purify the strain.

Also, during my phone consult with Dr. Shaw, this was the probiotic

he recommended that we use. My ped recommended it also based on the

clinical studies done.
