venting and vomiting --Lee

Our thoughts are with Mallory. Alec,5, vomited on and off from 6mths

to 17mths.Once we pointed out to the dr how often and the duration of

the episodes, he sent us to a gastro dr. That's how we discovered Alec

had cf. It was decided only the symptoms would be treated, unless the

vomiting affected the lungs. As he got older, there were fewer episodes.

It has been two years. During the vomiting, we felt so helpless. He

would vomit 4 to 5 times a day. One minute he would be listless then he

would bounce back. One of my heart breaking moments with this disease

happened during the last vomiting series, when Adam, Alec's twin who

also has cf but no symptoms, asked me when he would be like Alec.
