Greg TX Metabolife has often been suspected as a cause of liver disease. Many drugs, when used with alcohol, become more dangerous. Tylenol is notably one of them. Greg TX Greg, when I run a Google search on Metabolife and hepatitis or Metabolife and autoimmune hepatitis, I get lots of connections. One of them is a link with a law firm! AIH has many, many possible triggers, pharmaceutical, genetic, viral, and stress-based. One of the potential triggers certainly seems to be Metabolife, perhaps especially if taken with alcohol. Guest guest
Lucy, My daughter - in -law was having pain in her right side, and she thought it was her liver also. She had a sonogram about a week ago. We have not officially "heard" anything yet about them, But the guy doing it said it looked llike she may have a gall stone. She is currently taking 10 ml. of prednizone daily for her AIH, I hope everything works out for you and the pain leaves you, like Harper said, hopefully it is your meds and they can be changed.'Good Luck!! Guest guest
The acne is horrible! When I was first on Prednisone, I looked like a 16 y/o teenager the acne was so bad. Once I was tapered off the Prednisone it cleared up. I tried almost everything while I was broke out, but nothing helped. Also, I thought is was interesting about the ephedrine connection that was mentioned. When I was first dx'd in Nov 99 I was taking Metabolife, a diet aid and I believe it had ephedrine in it. My doc told me I could have had AIH for years and years, but it wasn't triggered until I took the Metabolife. Of course, he can't swear by it, he was just making an observation. So, needless to say, the diet aids are poison to your liver, so even though I'm still 30 lbs overweight, I will never take another diet aid. Take care, in LA AIH 99' > >
Guest guest
Dear Debby, I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your son. I think you are a very brave and wonderful person to be wanting to help others who are in pain. I'm sure they feel that you have been " sent " to help them. Thank goodness you've eliminated the cause of those horrible stomach aches. So that's what happens when you can't tolerate Imuran! Now you've just got to have positive thoughts about Cellcept and all will go well with that medication. Remember, we don't all get all the side effects! Best wishes, Bozena > Now, too, I have lost a son, and we have something in common. This is a wonderful family, and this last year, I have had many times when the death of my son has helped me to reach out to hurting families. That is why I cannot walk away right now. Maybe that is what I am supposed to do until I die....to reach out to hurting families. I do a good job at that and it is very rewarding to help families! > debby > > Message: 15 > Date: Wed, 7 Nov 2001 18:57:14 -0800 > From: " Tex Pueschel " <tdcc2000@...> > Subject: Re: Hi all - medication update! > > Bozena, I was not the one who takes the prednisone at 3 AM. But, I do take it by 6:30 AM now. When I started, I was taking it at 9:00 at night! Crazy doctor never told me to take it in the day! All he said was to take it at the same time every day. So after two weeks of not sleeping, I decided that I was better off by NOT taking it at all....but by then, I was crazier than a hoot owl with not having slept for 2 weeks! Oh well....got another doctor and now I am ok with the med! > > BUT, the best thing for me, is that since I have gotten off the Imuran, I have NOT had the stomach pains at all! Well, a couple of days, but I am NOT sick at all with the nausea and waking up with the horrific pains. I am so happy! Now, when I go back next week, I will see how I do on the Cellcept. Hope it is better than Imuran! > debby
