Guest guest
, So should my dose of Cortef be 5 mg at rising, 5 mg 4 hours later, 5 mg 4 hours later and 5 mg at bedtime? This is different than what was in the Natural Thyroid Hormones Adrenals Yahoo Groups Files? Which was to ramp up to 10 mg Cortef when I get up, 5 mg 4 hours later, 2.5 mg 4 hours later, and 2.5 mg at bedtime. wrote: > >>I take 10 mg Cortef when I get up, 5 mg 4 hours later, 2.5 mg 4 hours later, and 2.5 mg at bedtime.<< > > Taking 10MG in the Am about guarantees you will need mroe at bedtime. I am also on 3 and 1/2 grains Armour Thyroid. I reached the full 20 mg dose this past Sunday, 11/18. I am still having trouble getting to sleep at night. I go to bed at Midnight, wake up at 5 am. I thought by now I would be adjusted. If not, how long will it take? I take 10 mg Cortef when I get up, 5 mg 4 hours later, 2.5 mg 4 hours later, and 2.5 mg at bedtime. Thank you. Guest guest
The ramp up for Cortef is in the file titled " How to treat low cortisol " . Is this correct for most people? What are most people taking or does it vary for everyone? The daily dose and the amount every 4 hours and at bedtime? > > > >>I take 10 mg Cortef when I get up, 5 mg 4 hours later, 2.5 mg 4 > hours later, and 2.5 mg at bedtime.<< > > > > Taking 10MG in the Am about guarantees you will need mroe at > bedtime. Most peopel seem to need more than 20MG daily and will have to work up there doses form there but it gives them a good idea how to keep the correct rythym while they incerease. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
, My doctor only prescribed 20 mg Cortef and the last one comes to 27.5 mg. > > >>So should my dose of Cortef be 5 mg at rising, 5 mg 4 hours later, > 5 mg 4 hours later and 5 mg at bedtime?<< > > No I haven;t found that to work for many people. but you may need less gap between your doses such as in stead of 10 - 5 - 2.5 - 2.5 > you could try 7.5 - 5 - 2.5 - 2.5 > or probably more liek this > 10 - 7.5 - 5 - 5 > which is a jump up for you but you need to keep the rythym in mind while you raise to something that works. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ >

Guest guest
I have a very hard time falling asleep too. My HC schedule is: 10, 7.5, 5 and 2.5mg at bed. Should I try 5mg at bed also, since my first dose is 10? Is it OK to do a 10, 7.5, 5, 5 schedule? Thanks, Kirsten > > >>I take 10 mg Cortef when I get up, 5 mg 4 hours later, 2.5 mg 4 hours > later, and 2.5 mg at bedtime.<< > > Taking 10MG in the Am about guarantees you will need mroe at bedtime. Guest guest
Well, thats a good suggestion, but I am already applying a Bi-est and progesterone hormone cream at night, so I'm not sure I want to add another cream into the mix. I think I will ask my MD for an increase, I scheduled an appointment for next month. If not, I still have your cocontact overseas for Cortef. > > >>My doctor only prescribed 20 mg Cortef and the last one comes > to 27.5 mg. << > > You can always supplement the dosing with HC 1% cream available OTC most places. Guest guest
The other question I had was how long should I stay on this dose if I am still having problems to make an adjustment/increase?
