Ruthie - It is always so interesting to learn about someone elses religion

and not just from a book.

I must own up however to having a friend married to a Jewish man and when her

3rd child a girl arrived (she already had 1 girl 1 boy) she said she thought

great another girl - no snipping for her!

I presume it is what you are brought up to believe though and although we can

" see " the pain etc you have actually seen lots of boys have this done to them

and you can see the reality that it does not hurt for long and there are no

lasting effects from it.

I think I would have prefered to see DS2 be circumcised at a few days old

with a bit of Calpol and some wine rather than at 3 years old with a GA.

I wish you lived nearer and could have come into our school to talk to the

children last term when they were learning about the Jewish faith.

Trisha

SAHM to 3 boys

with a little bit of snow that has already vanished.

Thank you :) There are a lot of myths and misconceptions surrounding

Judaism, and I am happy to dispel them if I can!

Glad to be of help! But he might only get a B if he calls it a Bish!

It's a Bris :-)))

Ruthie

> Yes it was fascinating and thank you for sharing it with us my DS1

is currently doing aspects of the Jewish Religion at school and had to

write an piece on the Bish for homework, he was ecstatic when he read

you account. He has used it for the basic of his project and his

confident he will get an A for it, because it's based on a real story

and not taken from a text book.
