I don't think it is accurate (Although i paid > $59 for it). The one I bought was only $15 and I don't worry about the rate ... what I want is to HEAR the beats. Nice and regular I know it's NSR and it gives a reading quickly. When I'm in a-fib, it really can't read and it's not the watch, it's the irregularity of the a-fib. But listen ... hearing the beats and their rhythm is the main help of the watch - at least to me. Hope this helps. Toni CA

Guest guest
, is the Fragmen injection given before the procedure? Did the PVA cure or diminish your afib? Hope you are well. Guest guest
--Hi Alfred, I had my PVA done in August and for the next 5 weeks I was in AF 24/7. I was told by a number of folk from this support group to be PATIENT as it takes many weeks before the situation improves. . - In AFIBsupport , " Alfred " <abmotors66@s...> wrote: > > Hi everybody: > I had my PVA done last week (Oct 19th). Guest guest
Just some information for all those patients that have or intending to have a PVA. Just a quick one, just before the procedure, in my case I was aksed to come off the wafarin three days before I flew to france. I had to take Fragmen(no sure of the spelling) Its sound really nasty but I can assure you its not. It a small injection about 1 cm and you inject your self in the fat of the tummy, honestly it does no hurt. My wife offered to to this for me but again honestly its easier to do it your selft. In fact my wife felt a little quesey looking at the procedure. After the procedure, you heart goes mad. Mine was in NSR but with weird beats and at 120 bpm. this lasted about three day and gradually it went down in stages, to a reasonable BPM. The weird beats we Atrial ectopics and these were captured on an ECG. I thought I was in AF but it was these missed beats lots of them. The dr in London assured me this was normal as the PVA disturbs the electrical pulses in the heart and it can take up to 6 weeks for this to go normal. I stayed on my medicne for 6 months gradually reducing the dose every month. I hope that helps and good luck to all those comtemplaing a PVA. C on a very wet and cold night in Essex. Guest guest
Yes Fragmen I believe is a type of heparin, very short half live, about 30 mins. I had these injections 2 perday three days before the procedure. That was in may 2000 in Bordeaux France. yes NSR thank God. C still raining in Essex. > > > , is the Fragmen injection given before the procedure? Did the PVA > cure > or diminish your afib? Hope you are well.
