Guest guest
Carla, I only know what we do here. If Eilish has a wet cough (chunky) then we give her two weeks of augmentin or similiar which we keep at home. Then if after two weeks she no better we take her to clinic for them to assess. Guest guest
, What damages lungs is bacteria sitting on lung tissue. By using antibiotics it stops the bacteria from damaging the lungs. I hope this helps Deb

Guest guest
, you might try a cough syrup with an expectorant whilst your daughter is away so that you can cough all that stuff up quicker and then maybe take a cough suppressant when she comes home for the party. If you were really worried you could get some masks to wear while she is home. One for you and one for her. Our doc. always has Sammye (who has chronic bronchits) to take the expectorant when she is ill and do more albuterol treatments. May be the doc would give you a prescription for some albuterol. Guest guest
I only ment that if she didn't want to cough at the party she could take a supressant for that day only. We generally use only those cough syrups on our kids that have guyfenicin (sp?) in them as it is an expectorant, not a suppressant.
