Val - I already take a bedtime dose of 1.5mg (6.5mg total)and this

doesn't get me through that 4am wakening, so I take more in order to

get back to sleep (so it is more than 6.5mg in 24 hours).

So is the real problem insulin resistance, or too high cortisol? Or

both? Dropping the pred dose will be very difficult for me, as I

feel I need every mg of it to get through the day with 3 kids, their

activities, work etc. I have no other signs of too much cortisol - no

buffalo hump, my blood pressure is still low, no round face. My

weight is stable at 60kg.

Do you think the blood sugar will correct itself if I reduce my pred

dose?

thanks

Nicola

take the other 2MG.

Yes there is a good possibility. Pred works for abotu 12 hours, so it may be the

timing of the doses oyu need ot work wiht. How is your temp? If still low it may

be hypo that is exhausting you rather than low cortils and oyu may be using Pred

to cover that up where you should be using thyroid. Diabetes is what oyu are

riskign so I would certainyl work on lowering that glucose. BTW high sugar will

also make you tired and causes a depression all it's own!

My temps are about right at 36.9 / 37 most days. I am taking 1 grain

Armour and 30mcg T3 in split doses at the moment - this thyroid

dosing is a journey in itself, but I think I am getting there.

I shall split my Pred dosing as you suggest to try and lower the

overall dose. I cannot believe I am susceptible to developing

diabetes...

I also take 175mcg of Florinef a day, my endo said he thought I

needed more. Blood pressure is around 115/70 most days.

thanks
