Guest guest
Ok.. as most of you know, I was on here searching for a good french toast sticks recipie.. to my luck, I wasnt successful. I DID however come up with my OWN little recipie that I thought I would share with you. Last week, I had made some bread from the " Special Diets for Special Kids " book (page 140, I dont remember WHO'S bread recipie it was). I took about 5 pieces and cut them into 4's (long ways). I took 2 eggs, a splash of vanilla rice milk (pacific) a few drops of honey, and about 2 shakes of cinnamon. Sorry.. I was experimenting so I dont know the exact amounts..lol Anyhow, I beat it all together. I let the pieces of bread soak in the mixture for about 2 minutes, constantly turning them so that it would soak up the egg mixture. I heated up vegitable oil in the deep fryer and dropped them in. You have to keep turning them or else one side will brown more than the other. Also, let the egg mixture drip off of the bread before putting them into the oil. When they come out, they look ALMOST THE SAME as the burger king french toast sticks. We used 100% maple syrup to dip them in. They turned out FABULOUS! Tommy AND na gobbled them up so fast!! This baking stuff is ACTUALLY working now..lol!!! Rhonda NH
