Mike, Many of us on Zanaflex have the same reaction. I take the generic for

Zanaflex and get the same results so I only take it at night. Why not try

breaking it in half and spacing through out the day like that......Flora

Mike,

I take 4mg Zanaflex x2 per day. I too have trouble and get sleepy. I

agree with Flora, break it up into halves or quarters and spread it out

or take it at bedtime and sleep on it. I take 4mg at bedtime and do not

have a problem.

Hope this helps.

zanaflex and tiredness

I take a 4mg dose at work at noon. Like clockwork, I actually nod off

at my desk about 50 mins after taking it. When I fight to stay awake,

I actually am foggy and lose focus with my vision. It passes in

about 1/2 hr. I usually go to lunch so I can take a nap at this time,

but it doesn't always work out.

Does anyone else have a similar problem? I've been taking zanaflex

for at least a year.

If I am active (driving etc) at the time of my dose, I don't seem to

get sleepy. It's only when I'm sedentary.

Me too. I take 12 mg a day. 1/2 tab am, 1/2 tab noon. 1/2 tab 5 pm,

1 1/2 at bedtime. It's the noon dose that always gives me trouble.

I've found that if I only eat high protein I get sleepier. Also when

trying the South Beach diet the acid such as balsamic vinegar REALLY

activates the Zanaflex. If I skip lunch I'm not as sleepy. Obviously

I have a problem skipping meals or I wouldn't be trying so many diets.

So on high protein lunches I take a quarter of a tab.
