Guest guest
Hi Ann: From what I've read, Doxepin can cause an increase in carbohydrate cravings as well as the unfortunate effect of lowered metabolism. A double whammy. I was able to control my weight gain in the first two months of Doxepin therapy with exercise (weight training 3 days/week and walking) and vigilant diet control. However I had two " shocks " with exercise after eating and then deteriorated to having really bad URT with any exercise at all and had to quit entirely. Then I put on the pounds. The good news is, it comes right off (within 2 months for me) after quitting Doxepin. I really hated putting on so much weight, but it was much more important for me control my URT.
