If your digestion is horrible, you might want to add some good probiotics to

your regimen. We use Kefir a LOT and it really helps digestion. You also might

want to add some good digestive enzymes to your diet. They can really make a

difference. You also must clean up your diet; the SAD (Standard American Diet)

is nutritionally deficient and if you haven't already (can't remember, lol) lose

the junk food. Since DH and I changed radically our eating things have really

improved for us. We are what we call flexitarians, LOLOL. We eat a lot of raw

foods, but also some cooked foods, but leaning more to raw. We grow and eat

sprouts and this alone has changed my bowels habits dramatically! Since I

started eating sprouts I no longer have the horrible problems with constipation

that I have had my entire life! I lived on OTC constipation meds as a child and

I am sure that they did a lot of harm. The kefir, greek or russian yogurt

(lovely and thick, not runny like Dannon), and

sprouts, along with the salads DH makes (no iceberg lettuce as it has little or

no nutritional value) that utilizes many organic greens, plus sprouts and

whatever raw veggies we have on hand, avocado, sea veggies; I think you get the

idea! Kitchen sink salads, basically - everything in them BUT the kitchen sink!

We have turned our digestion around. I eat cheese before I go to bed; basically

I eat protein before bed because of the same issues. I hope some of this helps;

sorry if this is a long post. I just know what has really made a difference for

both DH and I.

But you CAN eatr gooo dwothout all th raw! I HAVE to. I have no teeth,

so raw most anything is out. I cannpt even eat salads unless they re

wilted, and then I do nto digest most of them. I live on meats, cheese

and dairy wiht eggs and a very few vegetables to supplement, and feel I

am WAY healtier than I used to be! Believe it or not many vegetables are

high in carbs so eating high fat is very good for me being Diabetic..

that is also very healthy for a person with bad adrenals that is

hypoglycemic.

I am not debating that, Val! I am putting out what has helped us amazingly, in

hopes that someone else can get some help with their digestion like we have. We

don't eat all raw by any means! My DH is downstairs right now, cooking fish. He

also made a salad with raw veggies. That is why I described us as Flexitarians

because we have figured out what works for us. He eats way more raw than I do,

but I refuse to give up meat. I am a protein person, so cutting out meat is just

not for me. I am figuring out things as I go, pretty much. I have bad teeth also

due to lifelong hypo with no diagnosis as a child, which would have gone a LONG

way to saving my teeth! We all have to figure out what works for us; it helps to

hear what works for others because we can use info from others to work out our

own protocol. That is what DH and I have done; we have figured out from what

others have shared with us and worked out our own protocols. That is why I

shared what has worked so well for us.
