Guest guest
Thanks Val. Is there any pre-requisite for Ferritin testing? My temps are stable at 98.6 > > >>I am loosing hair, feeling fatigue, > shortness of breath, skin is cracking etc. What can be the reason? > Could it be high cortisol or I need thyroid medicine at this point?<< > > I would say you need thyroid also have Ferritin checked. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ >
Guest guest
No pre-requisite at all bu t being hypo may make your Ferritin low. Low ferritin myay cause you to not use the thyroid properly. Have you had recent thyroid labs? You may have another problem wiht normal temps and stil lhaving these symptoms. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
No Val, I do not have recent thyroid tests but notable thing is that I feel really good when I start any thyroid medicine or even cortisol but then improvements go away. In case of thyroid, improvements do not last more then a week but in case of cortisol, it works for more then couple of weeks. I tried to balance thyroid for more then 3 years and now I am concentrating on adrenals for last 4 months as per my labs for aldosterone and renin. Guest guest
Val, I remember that I had CBC test few months ago. Do you think those will be helpful? If so, I can post them for your review. Thanks > > > > No pre-requisite at all bu t being hypo may make your Ferritin low. Low > > ferritin myay cause you to not use the thyroid properly. Guest guest
A CBC doe not tell much about thyroid. But it shiould list electrolites such as sodium and potassium whihc can also be off with weak adrenals. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Sorry Val. Actually I just read about Ferritin and found that it is iron related and thought that it might have some values in CBC. Thanks a lot. Will go for test tomorrow and will let you know the results once received. Lots of thanks once again!!! > > A CBC doe not tell much about thyroid. Guest guest
Val, I got Ferritin test results you asked as follows: result: 25.7 ng/mL reference range: 28-365 Looks like it is little less then lower limit but I am not sure how much it matters. Please guide me if it matters. Thanks a lot!!! > > > > A CBC doe not tell much about thyroid. Guest guest
Ferritin is extremely important....I suspect Val is going to tell you that your Ferritin is way too low. > > > > > > A CBC doe not tell much about thyroid. Guest guest
Ferritin mattes ALOT when it comes to utilizing thyroid hormones. You need to suplement with 150-200 mg daily of elemental iron until you are between 70 & 90 whihc is optimal range for women. You will probabyl; have trouble raising thyroid until you get it at least in the upper 40's. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
Val, Thanks a lot for your quick response. I have bought Ironchel 18 from GNC, which is Ferrochel 18 mg, which means I might need around 10 capsules daily. Is it ok? Is it ok if I take it along with Cortef? Also, please note that I am male, so you might need to mention different dosage daily. (I think women need little less then men as I read some where) Thanks > > Ferritin mattes ALOT when it comes to utilizing thyroid hormones.
