Low total T3 - can't do cytomel yet... (reposting...)

Hi,

I have just started on this awakening journey towards figuring out

what the *** is going on with my body. I've been on Synthroid 112mcg

for several years - seemed to have absolutely no effect on me. I

originally started it when my Nurse Pract. mentioned that they were

recommending treatment for TSH levels over 3. I was having

depression, brain fog, weight problems for years. TSH went down and

that was the 'end' of that road - until now.

Fast forward until now. Had gastric bypass 1 year ago and have lost

125 pounds! I now weigh 145 (normal wt) - but I still feel like

crap. I am depressed, have been under lots of stress and handling it

badly, scalp psoriasis, achy joints, seasonal allergies, low temps,

recurrent sinus infections, sudden hearing loss 7 yrs ago, sleep

problems (2-5am), NO sex drive (at least before I had a little).

Brain fog, memory issues getting worse. I am not functioning well at

all.

Had basic labs re-done:

T3 Total 61 (87-178)

T4 free .84 (.58-1.64)

TSH 1.19 (.28-3.89)

HGT 33.7% Low (37-47)

HGB 11.7 Low (12.0-16.0)

RBC 3.71 Low (4.2-5.4)

Iron 34 Low (50-150)

platelets 309 (140-440)

Lymp% 10.3% Low (18-43)

MPV 7.5 Low (7.8-11.0)

Neut# 7.8 High (1.6 7.5)

Neut%83% High (43.0-72.0)

Potassium 3.8 (3.5-5.3)

Sodium 133 Low (136-145)

Chloride 94 Low (97-110)

I know I should get FT3 done - I didn't know about it at the time.

Based on my limited knowledge, I asked about T3 meds - my NP gave me a

script for 25 cytomel - it was too strong. I got another one for 5mg

- even 2.5 gave me palpitations and hyper feelings. Not good!

It sounds like my adrenals might need addressing - what do you think?

I ordered a Canary test, but have not got it yet. I am taking

high-dose Iron supplement (for past couple weeks). I will see my

bariatric doctor this week and can ask for more testing -

What else in indicated besides FT3? Hormones? RT3?
