Guest guest
Atenolol almost kikilled me when I was hypo as it lowers thyroid function in the body. Was that propranonol Val? I sent you some info on this recently remember? Mo
Guest guest
But it was Atenolol that almost did me in. It is important to be aware that Atenolol does not lower thyroid as the other beta blockers do. Mo
Guest guest
Says who? It most certainly DOES lwoer thyroid just as all the beta blockers do. I sent you the research about two or three weeks ago Val. Mo

Sometimes when it's really bad I actually get what feels like " waves " going through me. I've had my head thoroughly checked (MRI, EEG, etc.) and there's nothing neurological causing it. I feel spacey, dizzy, foggy in the brain and tired! It goes away sometimes and I can't figure out why. It's never completely gone, but it's better and it definitely seems worse with pms and the start of my cycle. Is HC the only treatment for struggling adrenals? I try to get good sleep, eat well, etc., but that's not enough.... ~a

Guest guest
The HC is not helping your adrenals due to improper dosing. You need to mimic the body's naturla cortiosl rythym as much as possible for HC to actually work for you. Teh sweating is cortiosll related as well or low aldosterone. Have you had Aldosterone checked? That would be a place ot start. You also do not say what other supplements oyu take? Unrefined sea salt is the very best thing you can take for your adrenal's health. They run on sodium and the trace minerals in sea salt are just what our bodies need. Tat and vitamin C and B vitamoins can make a world of difference, but I suspect your HC dosing is the very worse thing you are doing wrong. To take 30MG your dosing could be like this: 10mg 7am - 10mg 11am - 5mg 2PM - 5mg 6pm or bedtie depending in if oyu have sleep issues or not. OR 10 - 7.5 - 7.5 - 5 if you seem to have low energy in the afternoon/evenings. This dosing works better as 15mg taken at once lowers your ACTh sdo much thta you are guaranteed to run low on cortiosl later in the day, and the HC only stays in the system 4 hours so you are going up and down all day. Naturla cortiosl will peak at 8 am then slowly lower to it's lowest point around midnight. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

The other supplements I take are compounded progesterone and testosterone, pregnenolone and 7-keto DHEA, Adderall (very small amounts), Atenolol for high bp and high pulse rate, Revitalization powdered vitamin powder and B complex (by Dr. Teitelbaum), B12 injections when I'm up to it, krill oil (fish oil), Power Cell, Maitake-d fraction, Anti-Yeast, Anti-Viral, Transfer Factor Basics, Russian Choice Immune and Adrenal Repair, Melatonin at night for sleep, Coag Clear and Rest and Restore, and the compounded T3 I already mentioned. I was told to take all of these by my current doctor (an FFC doctor). It seems like an awful lot to me, besides costing a fortune, and I don't see that much improvement. Are you familiar with these supplements?? I have never tried unrefined sea salt. Is there a file I should read to explain it? I'd love to know more and what brand is best and where to buy it, how to take it, etc. I also drink lots of water and I always put an Emergen-C packet or two in my large water bottle. I know Vitamin C helps many things. The only aldosterone test I had was last November at the Mayo clinic. My reading was 6.6 with a range of 1-21 ng/dl. I've read just a little bit recently on this and the symptoms seemed to fit me. I wonder if this might be part of why I have high BP and pulse rate. I am not overweight and I am only 39. I would like to get off of the Atenolol I am taking for this because it only adds to my fatigue and symptoms. Is the renin test important too? It was also tested with the aldosterone and my reading was 1.5. They show two ranges: Na- depleted, upright as 2.9-24 and Na-replete, upright of <= 0.6-4.3 ng/ml/hour. It's not completely clear which applies to me. I am planning to test these again in the next few weeks to have my doctor address it if needed. Is there a file I can read to learn more before I propose it to him? Are these considered low readings? I'd love to hear what you know and how it might relate to my symptoms. Thank you!! ~a

Guest guest
BTW I used Triamterene HCTZ for BP and together with SEA SALT and Thyroid it lowered from 245/148 to my now levels of 140/73 jst from correcting the thyroid/adrenal problems. And my LOW sodium. I stil take a half a Dyazide a day but am slowly weaning them down. I was considering Dr. Theodore Friedman in LA or maybe Dr. Dommisse in Tucson, if I can afford either. I am so frustrated and have spent so much and just want the facts! Are you familiar with either? I found the latter on this site. I have family in Arizona, so was considering it. Also, what is the best thyroid test and what range is optimal? My current doctor focuses completely on Free T3. I'm in the upper range, but there are obviously other factors here. He only measures cortisol with blood. I used to get saliva tests, but haven't had one in a few years.
