Guest guest
I have the phantom belly button feelings all the time - daily for several months after the TT but it is less now. the stem of the BB is still in tact under the skin with nerves so it makes sense that this would happen. but it is very weird to be scratching or rubbing a non-existent body part. I do plan on wearing that two piece swim suit this year and many sports bras when working out and don't give a damn if anyone realizes the BB is gone or missing. I'm debating right now whether to get a tattoo of a vine entwined along my scar.... only thing stopping me has been the repeat adhesion surgeries and the tattoo being messed up with the next stapling..... but hey maybe there won't be more adhesions and I do have a very good surgeon who ought to be able to line up a vine. Guest guest
I told my PS she could take my belly button, too, if she needed to. She kept it, but I'll bet a million dollars that my tummy would have even been tighter if she would have taken it (always looking for perfection). I think not having a belly button is cool. Very unique. Mine just gets in the way. A place to collect dust balls and get infected easily. What's up with you gals? Get into some bikini's. Is it just me, or haven't you noticed that even women who have been naturally slim all their lives and never had a weight problem don't have " perfect " bodies either? I wear my bikini with pride I even ordered a thong bikini yesterday! Of course, this is just for wearing in my own pool/spa, but still... I want to hear reports of some post-ops who are wearing bikini's! Felicia (_!_) > Rita, I don't have a belly button either. Guest guest
I still have my belly button...albeit a bit off center..like the owner..hehe. My WLS surgeon did my TT and he did a great job. I had mine a year ago, only 6 months and 154 lbs lost after my WLS. My belly was to my knees, and causing terrible back and hip pain. He also feared permanent back or posture problems if I didn't have it done sooner than later. I am SO glad that I did! 25 lbs gone in one fell swoop!! lol Now, a year and nearly 150 additional lbs lost later, I have a little poochy belly, but it still looks flat. I will NEVER wear a bikini...sorry...my thighs have been classified as a slide zone by the EPA! However, I do wear a one piece. I never intended to wear a bikini anyway. Guest guest
Hey, Sue. Take if from a tattoo affecianado, be careful with tattoos on scars. They aren't impossible, but it would take an extremely talented artist to pull it off. Most of what makes a tattoo look like a tattoo is the type of skin. My husband and I have matching tattoos, and his looks extremely different than mine. Same design, same color, but his skin is different, so that makes the tattoo look different. Now, if you are combining the same tattoo on the same person with two completely different skin types at the same time, you are looking at a recipe for disaster. The blue that the non-scarred skin makes might be royal, but on the scar it might be baby blue. The black might look purple on the scar, the lines might run on the scar. It is almost impossible to predict what will happen, but I would say that unless you hire the best of the best of the best, you aren't going to like the results. And, even if a miracle happens and the tattoo turns out perfectly, believe me, no surgeon is going to care what it looks like when he is sewing you back up after surgery. They want to get you off that table and awake. That is their number one priority. If you want to write me privately to talk more about tattoos, feel free. Guest guest
Good morning all-I have my belly button but it really looks weird! More like a vertical slit-wish they had removed it-and Felicia, like you, I wear my bikinis with pride-I have worked long and hard and suffered much for this new body! I wear french cut little bitty bikinis and I am almost 50 years old and the grandmother of 5 wild little boys. I have also noticed when I am on the beach or at the pool, that no one and I do mean no one has the perfect body-even very young thin girls have allot of jiggle going on and I also don't give a damn what other people think of my scars-if they have the nerve to ask I usually tell them it was a " shark attack " , giggle and walk away. For those just rude enough to stare, I just stare right back. I have learned that if I walk with my head up high, shoulders back, with an air of confidence and of course very dark sun glasses, I can pull just about anything off. My darling sweet husband thinks I am the most beautiful woman on this planet and he thinks I look great in my little itty bitty bikinis and he sure seems proud to be seen with me and he does not seem to care about a little sagging skin, jiggly butt or my weird belly button and that's all that really matters. So ladies and gentlemen we have gone through so much to become thin and healthy so get out there and strut your stuff-flaunt your beauty, live life to the fullest-we all deserve to be happy, healthy, to feel beautiful and confident and of course to show off a little or a whole lot. Regards, ej PS-Felicia I also have a thong bikini but only wear it at home in the sun-my sweetie loves chasing me around the yard and patio and of course I am not all that hard to catch! Re: No Belly Button I told my PS she could take my belly button, too, if she needed to. Guest guest
After my TT I did not have a belly button just a " pouch. " I waited 7 months and got a tattoo of flowers and vines where my belly button should be. Then I got my " pouch " pierced. It looks GREAT. I can even wear short shirts.
