Guest guest
well sooooozy --- have you had your pcp call yet and request the pre-certification for surgery? If that is all the insurance company I would be hopping on that phone first thing Monday morning! It is also not clear to me what the insurance company is saying about their benefits ... do they not give you proof of insurance - or a benefits folder, booklet or something? If they do not provide that from your employment .. I would find out where the headquarters are located ... and call them directly. Good Luck .. Guest guest
Dear Soozy: Honey, food is not your only friend. All of us here on this site have a common denominator. Food is insidious. Just when you think you have it under contol, it rears it's ugly head and the obsession begins. Please do not give up! It is very important to keep going. When one door closes, open the next one. Most people on this site have had to fight to get what they want. I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you to do, my insurance is totally different from most people here, I have Medicare. So in essence, I don't know what your next move is. For all of you here that have heard me say this more than once, I apologize. Soozy, remember this: a winner never quits and a quitter NEVER wins. Please remember this. Pain (this situation and feeling nobody is! listening to you) is inevitable, however, suffering is optional. You can do it, girl. You must try a different path. If nothing changes, nothing changes. At this site, you have been given a mutual support system. You have found people who understand you because they are like you. We all have the same problem, and together we are strong enough to solve anything. I hope some others who have gone through this same problem can give you advice. Keep going, Soozy. It only takes one person to change your life.....you. God bless, and be strong. Sometimes things do not happen in "our" time, but in "His" time. Love, Darlene in Fl. Guest guest
I know how frustrating it is to wait and wait and wait...keep at your insurance company and your PCP. Of course having this surgery means more to you than it does to them, so you have to make sure you are your own best advocate! I have been denied three times, but am still researching and looking at every option I can find. The medical community seems to be slow to recognize the life-saving potential of WLS, and the insurance companies are even harder to convince! Maybe it is time for you to be your own best friend, knowing that the things in life worth having are worth fighting for! And I am sure having your life and health are very worthy of the fight. Don't give up, keep reading the posts, make sure you join the OSSGInsurance egroup for information and tips also. Keep fighting! You are worth it! Guest guest
Thanks.. ) .. No, they wont give me anything until the coverage takes effect 01/01/01 .,. funny.. i viewed that date as the first day of the rest of my life. Kinda like a whole new start. Now, im not so sure. another of our members has the same company and was denied last week even after dr. smith requested it with letter of medical necessity.. out of network is what they said.. its just not fair that we're held to that but there is no surgeon in florida or network that does bpd/ds. i can have rny if i want, but i dont. My PCP is the one who suggested it.. who wudda thunk? > well sooooozy --- have you had your pcp call yet and request the > pre-certification for surgery? Guest guest
Soozy, Dr was out of network for me also, but once I explained how he was the only surgeon and the closest surgeon to me that offers lap DS, they then agreed to cover him in-network. This might be worth a try for you also. B. > > well sooooozy --- have you had your pcp call yet and request the > > pre-certification for surgery?
