Subject: New here...would like to inform about my organization and an

upcoming conference

Hello,

I'm a new member and would like to introduce myself. My name is

Stanley and I'm the Executive Director of the Childhood

Anxiety Network. We work with families and professionals who are

dealing with anxiety disorders in children. Our main focus is on

Selective Mutism, a little known disorder that is related to social

anxiety. It's very treatable when diagnosed early and handled

properly, but very difficult for families to find the help that they

need (which we are working to change.

I'd like to let everyone know that our annual conference will take

place in Baltimore next week. As part of the conference, we're

sponsoring a Childhood Anxiety Expo which will feature speakers such

as Carol Stock Kranowitz (speaking about Dysfunction of Sensory

Integration) and Dr. Shipon Blum speaking about medications

used in the treatment of anxiety in children.

I hope that some of you may be able to join us for this exciting

event. It will also feature exhibitors such as the land

Therapeutic Riding Assoc, Brain Gym, Sensory Resources,

Kammerman Portraits (a photographer specializing in special needs

kids) Theraplay, Sensagration, and many more!

For more information:

http://www.selectivemutism.org/retreat2004expo.htm.

Hope to meet you there!

Stanley
