Guest guest
>>>I too am so exhausted when i get home... i don't even think about exercise... it's all i can do to just make it home? how do we get enough energy to start exercising? You might want to start with just increasing your activity during the day. If you have an errand to run take the stairs, walk around the house more when you're at home. Park farther away when you're going to stores--or walk to stores if you can. Everytime you go to the bathroom, do 20 side bends. That sorta thing. If you keep that up I do think you'll see your energy increasing. XXXMarge
Guest guest
>>>>cool.. thanks... I'm definetly gonna try to start.. i'm just afraid.. of doing too much too fast... in the past i've started a diet and exercising vigorously at the same time.. and after 2 weeks i burn out and start slipping.. so i'm definetly trying to do things slower this time... introducing new habits slow rather than everything at once. I kwym. For me, I had to take the exercise building slow. It was a mental thing, I was like " There's no way I can do that much! " But after I started doing a little bit, then a little bit more, it got much better. Especially once I started seeing real results in my bod. The shape started changing, I started getting muscles, my stamina increased. And I don't go to a gym right now. I do the exercises at home. Imho, there's nothing wrong with going slow, I think it helps make changes permanent :-) XXXMarge
Guest guest
Hey buds, Sorry I have not been around today. Mike, Cassie and Cassie's friend Noel went backpacking. This morning was hectic, getting ready to go then I dropped them off at the trailhead and been running errands and stuff all day. Just got home a bit ago. It looks like they will have perfect weather. It was about 76 today and hopefully it will stay nice until Sunday. I did a good one yesterday. I was trying to get dinner going and get my hair done, going back and forth. It's what I get for getting in the shower late. So I made some rice a roni, thought I shut off the burner. Told Cassie it was all ready and I was going to go finish drying my hair or by this time it had dried but not the way I like it so I wet it down again to do it right. Cassie comes and asks me if the rice is burning. I said no, I shut the burner off but then could smell it. Ran into the kitchen and sure enough. I had not shut the burner off...... it was on high!!! The rice and pan ruined and the house filled with smoke. Oh man it was bad! so I quick made some regular rice, had to wet the hair down again, finally got it done, hair done and ate. Ugh! I have never ever done anything like that before! Even Mike was surprised. I just don't so things like that!!! Soooo got a new pan today. :-) It's really nice! I was going to go down the hiking trail with them for a bit today but had an asthma attack so decided it wouldn't be a very good idea. Bummer! It is really nice out and I love that trail so was very disappointed. I wish I could go back and camp with them but sleeping outside is too hard on my back and arthritis. So, I'm a free woman this weekend and what am I doing? Home on the computer. LOL Anybody want to fly up and party? :-) I figure I'll just hang around the house, vacuum out the Jeep and try to get the bugs off. The car wash doesn't even hardly touch them. I don't know for sure, but I swear Alaska bugs are made of super glue! LOL Well I'm going to take advantage of this alone time and hopefully get semi caught up on e-mail. I hope you all had a good day. :-) Oh I was 207 this morning!!!! and get this, TOM isn't even done yet and the way I have been peeing today (always do at the end of TOM), I think I might be even less tomorrow. I'm hoping anyway. well off to e-mail. :-) Gena 284/207/190/160s??? PS: Anybody want to gab on the phone, e-mail me and I'll give ya my phone number. :-) or e-mail me yours and I'll call ya. Can you tell I'm not used to being home alone like this? LOL
Guest guest
Gena Take your alone time and relax. I think your pot incident means you need to take a break. lol Good thing you didn't start a fire. you were very lucky. Thats great about the scale moving!! I knew you just had to be very very very patient. Thats the hardest part. Thats too bad about your asthma attack. I couldn't even imaigne what that would feel like. it would be sooooooo scary. Have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy your free time!!! PS: I would call to talk but I just had my tooth out and talking isn't really a fun thing right now! LOL have a great day! Guest guest
Hi Jeanne, nice to meet you.. we have a few folks here from the UK so you're not the only one here! Thanks for being so open minded and understanding of our excitement today... Can you tell us a bit more about what's going on with your... have you been started on meds (replacement hormone) yet, or been told what is causing your gland to be underactive? I over your quotation... very appropriate for those of us here! Guest guest
I am 64 , and was diagnosed when I was 38... I have to admit to my shame that I have just let the Doctor tell me what is wrong and such I am on Thyroxin..200mg daily..I also have other serious health issues one of which I didn't associate with the thyroid until I read the mail on the group here ...I am on antidepressants and have been for years...I have never been told what caused my problems..I must admit when I first went to my Doctor with tiredness and general yuk feelings ...he immediately said I shall send you for a thyroid function test..the thing is it took ages to get the correct does and then it was lowered at one point...in fact a few times I have been put on 150 mg and then back on 200mg I am overweight, and what I don't understand is that if when I was taking 200mg a day it was too much why did my weight stay the same?? surely it would have gone down since my metabolism was over working ???? as I say my thyroxin dose goes up and down..at the moment I am back on the 200mg a day...I see now that I should question the Doctor more ..as for the saying I collect them ....and yes it is very appropriate..as for the lady who left the group put it down to her having a bad day...its sad ...but who knows one day she may come back ...Jeanne Re: Hello Hi Jeanne, nice to meet you.. we have a few folks here from the UK so you're not the only one here! Guest guest
Hello Jeanne, I live in Suffolk, nice to see you here. I too am HypoT and have had a bit of a battle to get my medication raised to a level that allows me to feel 'normal'. I must have reached the 'normal' level as a neighbour of mine told me this funny little anecdote; He has been feeling ill for several years and has recently been diagnosed as hypothyroid. After 4 months on 25mcg of thyroxine he told the nurse at our doctor's practice that he wasn't happy, still felt ill and wanted " some of that stuff that is on.... she is skipping around like a spring chicken " . I think his description is a bit of an exageration but I do feel better than I have for years. Hope you get the help you need here. --- ALLAN RUDD wrote: > I just wanted to introduce myself, I am Jeanne,I > live in Kent,,England.
