Very bad mummy

Feeling really really bad after losing my temper twice with DD this evening -

very unproductive - but am really tired and ill... was up all night with

horrible sore throat which is showing no signs of disappearing, and having

carried sick DS around all day. Had to cancel two important interviews for

potential jobs - both tomorrow - but no way I can go - too ill to go out and

can't leave sick DS with anyone either.

So generally feeling bad, and after avoiding a range of near catastrophes this

evening and being really really diplomatic for a very long time, I just snapped

when DD decided to take DS' toy away from him for the 27th time and slapped him

on the head so he became inconsolable.

Lost my temper and shouted far too loudly, and DD (also ill and tired, and the

last thing she needs is a shouting mummy) didn't manage to stop doing the wrong

thing, so in the end it just escalated with both of us in tears.

Now DH has come home and rescued everyone, put DD to bed (she didn't want mummy

- that's revenge for you), changed DS's nappy, made me a hot toddy, and I feel

really really guilty for being so inadequate...
