Guest guest
Yes, too much thyroid hormone can make you tired. Fatigue has always been my biggest symptom. On the last doc visit he cut my Armour from 180 mg, to 150mg. Like you, I take it 3 times per day, 60/60/30. I was leary to cut back, but I thought what the heck. Also, my pulse was high, and he was concerned. All this to say, I feel ALOT better. Last week was the best week I've had IN A LONG TIME. I switched from Sythroid/Cytomel to Armour, end of December. For the first time in years I am feeling like perhaps I will feel good again. Well before that I was self medicating with Thyroid - S. I posted the first test on here but we could not tell much from it. I ended up being put on blood pressure medicine that has a diuretic in it. Well he put me on Armour also 60 mg per day. He told me to stop self medicating do not take the thyroid -s anymore. So I haven't. I stopped everything except I take Selenium 400 mg per day, 500 mg of B12,AND Avalide 150/12.5 mg per day <<< blood pressure pill. Well 2 weeks ago I was in for a blood pressure check up which is getting better (but he said I will be on this pill forever now) and told him I was still tired, not sleeping well so he upped the Armour to 120 mg per day which I split and take in 3 doses under my tongue. He did not do a blood test this day.Friday I went to him again blood pressure and blood test - they just called and said I still have tooo much thyroid hormone in my body and now hes taking me back down to 90 mg per day as of tomorrow. I don't have the test yet he is supoposed to be faxing it to me.Does to much thyroid hormone make you tired ?? I do not have a racing heart beat or anything. I find it hard to go thru a day without a nap though. Also, does it still help you gain weight - cause I have gained 6 pounds in a month ???? Understand he would not let me do any walking or anything cause my blood pressure was so high, but I can start riding my stationary bike next Saturday for short periods at a time he said. Its just I am 40 years old, work full time, and am finding myself going home at 5 pm then laying down for a hour cause I can't keep my eyes open.By the way as soon as I have the test results of what ever he did this time I will list them.Mari

Guest guest
I have not noticed a weight gain, although I am overweight, and do struggle. I am able to lose weight though when I make good choices. Maybe someone else will be able to answer. When I added the Cytomel(T3) to the Synthroid it did help with weight loss. I am still having hair loss, but I've only been on the Armour a few months. I am hoping that once I am stabilized I will see some positive changes. As I say, the past week is the best I have felt in a very long time. I imagine it is how normal people feel, lol. I was so fatigued I quit my job in August. My body just gave out. Guest guest
he needs to check your adrenals... your adrenal & thyroid gland(s) aren't synching up and I'm willing to bet that is why you are still tired.
