I have depleted the chicken population of Washington State and burned enough candles to raise the average temperature around here by 5 degrees! LOL As has everyone here I have worried and fretted about you and Joy and what a wonderful woman she is I am so sorry to hear she is in so much pain I hope that Dr. Welker will get her in as soon as possible so she will be out of such pain. I will let you go now, I know you need to rest Please know that I am surrounding you with warm hugs for the both of you. It has been a traumatic time - watching your ups and downs over the last few months. We have collectively held our breath on here .. and then you could hear the sighs of relief when we heard good news! Joy was not only there for you Joe, but she was there for us too, knowing how badly we wanted news, any news of your condition ---- I know there were times when she wrote and would rather have been in bed. To both of you .... I salute you as Valentine's of the Year! Your love for one another is a shining example of what it takes to make the world a better place. Love, Loriann I'm Baaack! Hi all. This isn't Joy as it says in the heading but it's the real Old Fart, Joe. My puter is sick, bad battery, and I'll try to get it replaced today or tomorrow. But for now I just want to thank all of you for your prayers and chicken swinging. Against all odds I am alive and kicking and as of yesterday afternoon out of the hospital in our apartment here in Portland. I spent 7 weeks at OHSU enjoying 7 major surgeries and about 10 days at Providence Portland Hospital Rehab unit learning how to walk again - only partially successful. I'd like to say that I attribute my survival first to the many prayers that you all have offered. I cannot express my gratitude. I get choked up even mentioning it. Next I cannot minimize the support of my wife Joy without whom I wouldn't have had the heart to pull through. She gives me the reason to want to live. I will tell you my story in all its nausious detail soon, but for now I thank you for your prayers and support and am glad to be back, if intermittently at first. Regards.
