(snip) > Pete in upstate NY Pete: As I remember, you are on flecainide? If so, you may want to ask your doctor if you can take a bolus (extra) dose when in afib, in an attempt to self convert. As I said I'm armed with all kinds of new info from the group so I have alot of questions for him. I have had the experience you describe countless times in my 20+ years of afib, complete with the sleepless night and going to work anyway. It's not fun, but we survive. I've never been to the emergency room yet for afib and sometimes wonder if the fact that I always convert to sinus on my own has anything to do with all that " practice " my heart has had in converting without cardioversion or chemical intervention. Its only after finding this site that I had the information I needed to take on this stinking thing ! I now know I can do it and hopefully I will get options from the doctors .
