Guest guest
.. What I did find out though is it only lasts 2 hours so a better dosing is more frequent very small doses throughout the day. I didn't know that Cheri. I am taking my Cynomel every four hours with my h.c as in one 25 mcg tab every four hours. Maybe I will split them and see........ That is if I can remember. So much to remember and so little brain-power to remember stuff with! Still at least we are all in the same boat and there is comfort in that. Guest guest
Tasia, I am in the same boat. I am waiting for my Cytomel, will break it into 1/4 tabs and plan to increase my Isocort to at least 30 and likely higher. I think you should stay at your current compounded T3 and swap out partial doses when you get the Cytomel. Everyone I talked to said the Cytomel was stronger. What I did find out though is it only lasts 2 hours so a better dosing is more frequent very small doses throughout the day. Cheri How To Swap TR T3 with Cynomel? Currently on TR T3 97.5mcg 2x a day (195mcg total) & 27.5 HC.Just ordered Cynomel in 25mcg tablets and expect it to be here in 2 weeks. How should I balance my dose? I figured I might need to up the HC to 30 when I introduce the straight T3, and I should break the 25mcg pills into 1/4th=6.25 and start with 6.25 2x a day on top of my TR T3. Monitor temps, then a week later add another dose of 6.25....keep working up that way to see if I notice a difference. If I do see an improvement, I would then lower my TR T3 by 7.5mcg a week? While upping Cynomel and watching my temps....? Am I right? Should I start to decrease my TR T3 now? Tasia .

I hope this new med works. I feel helpless and depressed when a new supplement/medication is not working because I have this fear that nothing is available to alleviate my discomfort. I never thought my journey would include self-treating. Now, I can't remember the rules about prescription medication and international travel. Some countries require the bottle to have your name on it right? But if I travel domestically, there should be no problem with carrying this prescription without my name on the bottle? How have some people worked around this? Tasia
Guest guest
I found that on one of the medical drug sites. If I find the link I will post it. So, I am thinking I am going to try to do a dose every 2.5 hours which is similar to what I have my Isocort down to. I was a hour late on one of my doses of Isocort today and boy did I feel it. I felt like a truck ran over me but tonight I feel better. Amazing how my body really requires precise timing. Cheri Re: How To Swap TR T3 with Cynomel? . Guest guest
Well, this website says it " peaks " at two hours and is used up by 4 hours so a person could probably go 3 hours between dosing pretty comfortably if this is accurate. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/sub9.htm " Cytomel is best taken several times a day. Levels of T3 will peak roughly 2 hours after ingestion and will be depleted within 4 hours. To optimize the availability of T3 and maintenance of T3 levels throughout the day, multi-dosing is a recommended course of action.Multi-dosing avoids having total dependence on your body converting T4 to T3. " Still looking for that other website. Cheri RE: How To Swap TR T3 with Cynomel? I found that on one of the medical drug sites. If I find the link I will post it. Guest guest
As long as the bottle has the name of what the drug is you should be fine. I haven't had a problem yet with the stuff I carry domestically. It is legal to ship a 3-month supply to the US so I imagine it is also legal to carry it on board but you can always contact the FAA and find out for sure. Mine never had my name on it since these were items ordered online and not through the doctor. Now, with international travel I am not sure. I haven't done it since the new security measures and with my self dosing. It would be worth looking into since I plan on going to Mexico and Canada in the next year. Guest guest
I am probably not the best to answer since I have to figure that out for myself. Armour is supposed to be best under the tongue so I am thinking of trying Cytomel that way too. It depends on if the taste gags me or not. If not, I will take it with my Isocort and a small amount of food. How much HC are you up to now, Tasia? I still need to raise mine but it has really helped my depression at least. I am not sure if this is because it takes a week to recover from menstruation. I plan on using the next 2 weeks to straighten my temps (probably going to 30 HC) before my " miracle " T3 arrives. It is tough to get my dose in when I am not awake for many hours of the day. When I sleep 11 hrs and take a nap, I have to take my dose at 10 mg segments to squeeze my full dose in. I am hesitant to raise my dose because I am scared of gaining weight. My pants are tight--8lbs heavier. Given my other hypoT symptoms, I guess I can put the weight gain in the thyroid category. Guest guest
I gained about 8 pounds after starting Isocort. I had actually lost 10 before that and was losing a few more when I first started Isocort but then started to gain and am approaching 10 lbs. I think it is my body still adjusting and not at my right dose yet of cortisol or thyroid. Cheri Re: How To Swap TR T3 with Cynomel? Guest guest
We are all different. I take Cynomel in 2 doses. 7AM & 7PM. I am currently on 167mg daily. What works for some does not work for all. Gale > > . Guest guest
>>So should I dose my T3 with my HC when it comes? Can I take this T3 under the tongue? Should I take it on an empty stomach? << You can take it wiht HC or alone, swallow or under the tongue, The same rules apply to T3 meds as any thyroi meds in that if you swallow it , it should be taken away form any iron supplements or calcium byt at least an hour but sublingual is fine The main thing I think wiht regular T3 is to break the doses up as it is easier on the adrenals that way, at least it seems so for most people. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
