Thanks-Elaine Hi, Elaine - Glad you flagged this for us again. Assuming your dates above are correct, the TSH looks great for this soon after the ablation. As you probably know, the goal is usually <0.1. They did this test awfully soon after your ablation - about a week and a half. It takes 6-8 weeks for the Levoxyl to get fully into your system, so say you should have another blood test around now to see where your numbers are. Yes, if that TSH doesn't go down more, they'd increase the Levoxyl You have antibodies of 21, which means that your tg results are not reliable right now. The antibodies may well go down over time. The tg should go down - I think you may have misunderstood the comment about the tg being at 0.5 or less (maybe she said the TSH..though less than 0.1 is really sufficient)- it will ideally be undetectable (ie less than the lab can measure..my lab indicates mine as <0.9). Cheers, Alisa Currently - TSH 0.09, 140mcg Levoxyl 2/15/2002: Nodule found 2/27/2002: FNA 3/4/2002: Hysterectomy/oopherectomy-possible ovarian cancer - BENIGN!! 4/9/2002: TT - Stage 2 pap 2.5 x 2 x 1.6 cm nodule, dx Hashimotos 5/28/2002: 100 mCi RAI 12/16/02: WBS (5 mCi): clean scan - no thyroid tissue in body!!! Guest guest
Yes and allergies and adrenal problems. 80-100% of ibs symptoms are caused by thyroid problems, dehydration, allergies (most common) and having low adrenals due to allergy problems. They also cause chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia as well. Another question I have IBS, a little anemia, and had a yeast infection a few months ago. Is ANY of this related to the Hypothyroidism? What besides meds can we do to wake our bodies up from this tiredness all the time?Heidi
Guest guest
Hi Heidi, Yep, all of these things can be attributed to a malfunctioning Thryoid gland. for yeast infections you can try eating Yogurt (no sweetning added, no fruit and such at the bottom/top of the little cup) just straight Yogurt...this adds healthy bacteria to the body helping to keep the unhealthy bacteria/yeast at bay. fresh Acidofolis(sp?) is another product that you can add to your diet regime...I just prefer yogurt. I make my own so its always fresh. Anemia, add a really good quality iron supplement to your food intake...I use Slow FE and I take it with food...If I have a steak for dinner than I skip the Slow FE for the day as there is a lot of Iron in the steak. And eat more veggies that contain Iron in their makeup...spinach comes to mind... ;D remember PopEye and his bulging muscles from eating all that spinach...chuckle. Actually, the best thing that we can do for ourselves with Thyroid diseases is to eliminate all sugars, corn syrup, sweetners, white processed flour....And eat a lot of veggies, fruits, healthy oils (fats that are healty for us) and some form of quality protein. I eat some form of protein with every meal...some call this a High protein/low carb way of living....yep it sure is....as soon as sugar gets back into my body I feel sluggish and yuckie and want to sleep....(I love sugar & cream in my coffee, so I just eliminated coffee from my life, sigh and chocolate as well) I have just simply removed the processed crude and have gone back to the way that my ancestors ate before the corporations got a hold of what we buy at the grocery stores....around about the end of WWII. Get your body fed correctly, get your Thyroid levels correct and you may just find a new you is waiting just around the corner. Guest guest
Hmmm, and I thought the intestinal problems (IBS symptoms) were something else, and would have to figure that one out next. Maybe getting my thyroid under control will fix it all. chrissie Re: Another question Hi Heidi,Yep, all of these things can be attributed to a malfunctioning Thryoid gland.for yeast infections you can try eating Yogurt (no sweetning added, no fruit and such at the bottom/top of the little cup) just straight Yogurt...this adds healthy bacteria to the body helping to keep the unhealthy bacteria/yeast at bay. fresh Acidofolis(sp?) is another product that you can add to your diet regime...I just prefer yogurt.I make my own so its always fresh.
