Tasia - You don't need to take synthetics to prevent pregnancies. There's

something called natural family planning that doesn't cost a thing:

I wonder if HC reduces the effectiveness of birth control....better

use a back up method until you get an answer from more than one source.

For example, a female psychiatrist told me that anti-depressants can mess with

the way birth control is metabolized, so women need to use a 2nd method.

Thankfully I've never touched it. You may be right!

P.S. , no way do I take synthetic anything except HC. I was

responding to another girl who was taking HC and BC.

Since you asked, I have experienced this. It was quite a few years ago now, but

I had felt great all my life- lots of colds - but always recovered and never

experienced any mood disorder. The story was quite different after " the pill " .

I began to think marriage disagreed with me, even though things were going

great.

I started the proverbial doctor-to-doctor trips, suffered the usual abuse and

insults and spent a lot of my paychecks for nothing. I had sinus treatments,

allergy shots, cortisone shots, voimiting that wouldn't quit, migraines,

depression and a few panic attacks. Fortunately, I recovered and had a family,

but eventually was put on thyroid, then T3 and felt optimal until avirus

apparently threw my labs off and dr. upped thyroid twice and threw me into

hyper.

I think things might have gone better if I had left the pill alone.

WAY back when.. I was a young pup, my periods were ALWAYS a mess, painful and

hard, and I was given " the pill " to try to regulate them.. HA! I looked and felt

PG! Morning sickness, cravings, huge belly, an miserable mood swings. NOPE not

for me in spite of the miserable periods. So yeah, even though I had no

diagnosed thyroid troubles then, I certainly could not take the pill.
