Guest guest
No cramping, just spotting. I would notice it one day, then a couple of days nothing, then it would be back again. This month it was 3 or 4 days of spotting but spread out over two weeks. I had a polyp that did the same thing until I eventually had surgery on it so I am not going to worry about it for the next few months while I get my meds and body adjusted but if it persists after 6 months I will go in and get it checked to make sure it is not the polyp again because last time it was a cancer scare. Cheri Re: Spotting between periods and HC? Hi Cheri, Did yours come with cramping or just spotting? I know from the RTH forum that others have had similar experience. Did yours stop yet? Thanks! Guest guest
Bonnie, This is my first cycle with HC and I now call myself " spotty dotty " because it has been one day on, one day off for my 5 days. It's still unwinding. Tasia
Guest guest
Sometimes the low cortiosl masks a sex hormone problem. This is why for most of us it is best to correct both adrenal and thyroid problems before messing wiht sex hormones, but for some the sesx hormone problem is bad enough that it must be corrected at least as much as you can , during the thyroid/adrenal adjustment. I would get your sex hormones checked out in case you need ot replace them. High estrogen is most times form low cortios but when you add in enough cortiosl that estrogen can drop dramatically to too low. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
Are you by any chance using progesterone cream? I too had a total change in my periods and cycle since starting HC two years ago. Nothing's ever been the same with my menstruation since then. Re: Spotting between periods and HC? I've been spotting every single day since October 18th, the day I started HC (and the same day my cycle started). I've had one more cycle that started Nov. 12th, and I've been spotting since the end of that cycle too. It's not ever really too heavy but it's starting to make me wonder if I need to go to my ob-gyn. I was just hoping it would straighten itself out. I also have a little cramping but nothing too serious. Thanks for the replies! Guest guest
Val: That's interesting about the estrogen - my estrione was really low (below range) before starting HC - as was my testosterone, but my progesterone was towards the high end of the range, although I can't remember at what point in my cycle the tests were run. I'm going to guess that it wasn't during the first week with high progesterone though. Maybe mid-cycle? : Would progesterone cream help with the spotting? I'm willing to try it! Isn't it true progesterone will convert to estrogen but estrogen won't convert to progesterone? Maybe my progest is high, but estrogen is low. I know I need to get hormones checked, but I don't go back to my endo til the 18th of Dec and I'm afraid to tell her about any problems I'm having on HC (this is actually the only problem I'm having, otherwise I feel great on HC) because it was like pulling teeth to get anything from her. Her words were " I'll give you a trial but on paper you don't have an adrenal problem " Yeah right! Low aldosterone/high renin (both at FAR either end of " normal " ), A.M. cortisol of 7 (out of 4-22), very low ACTH stim (15), high pulse, BP that drops on standing from supine, plus all the other symptoms Dr. Lam mentions! Maybe I can see my ob-gyn and he will run the tests. By the by, I have also in the last few days increased my DHEA supplement from 5-10 mg/day to 50 mg/day, hoping that might help some, since my DHEA was VERY low also. So far I haven't had any ill effects and this is day 5, but it also hasn't stopped the spotting either, so I'll probably start tapering back down to 10 mg again. Thanks for the replies! Guest guest
I would not take ANY sex hormones uneless oyu are low in them. Why would you take Progesterone if it was high? It is more liekly you need estrogen. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
Okay then. I'll call my ob-gyn next week and set up an appointment. He should be able to order the bloodwork and should be able to Rx estrogen if I need it. What's the best natural estrogen to take (providing I actually NEED it)? I am not taking any progesterone at the moment. Not on anything but Armour (3 1/4), HC (25), DHEA, sea salt and my vitamin/mineral supplements (all 50-gazillion of them!). Thanks again! Using blood to test for hormones is inferior to saliva testing. One reason has to do with measuring the free amounts, saliva is more accurate and by the time something shows up in blood then you know you have big problems--I don't remember exactly how to explain this. The second reason has to do with the same reason one does not use 1 test time to analyze cortisol levels. Lets say your doc ordered one saliva test in the am to look at your cortisol--but what he does not see is what the cortisol is doing the rest of the day. Same for the female cycle. One peek into your cycle on day #__ does not tell the dr. if you are on your way up, down, or if you have flat lined the rest of the 30 days. I know it is expensive, but the female hormone panel (FHP), is a month long saliva test where you collect saliva on certain days. This test gives you the full picture of how your hormones are acting for the full month. No two women are alike, so why should drs treat our cycles exactly the same? No two cycles are alike either.
