Guest guest
- yes, 's height is at the low end for an RSS untreated boy (and it sounds like compared to his siblings). I would absolutely recommend getting a second opinion re growth hormone or other medical treatment. Also, swimming for an RSS child can be, although fun, detrimental as well unless the water temperature is 92 degrees or above. Dr. H suggested that we get lindsay a wetsuit/body suit and that helped her alot!!! Temps under 92 degrees mean your RSS child is burning significant calories simply trying to keep their body warm! Re muscle mass. That is one of the amazing side effects of GHT - the muscle mass/muscle weight that is put on!!! I was trying to find the note that Dr. H wrote about muscle mass and GH but can't find it. Sorry! Good luck - I hope you can get answers to help . Guest guest
Hi , It does sound as if is on the really small side. My son will be six in September and he is just about 40 " . I had a thought about your son and swimming and staying warm. I am sure he would say no way, but how about a swim cap? If he would agree to wear one (like those really cool Olympic swimmers!) he wouldn't lose so much body heat through his head. Just a thought. Guest guest
I don't know if this is an option for a 12 year old[it may be very 'uncool!!] but have you thought about a wetsuit for swimming.Christian is 5 and had the same problems with swimming [no matter how warm the water was]but when we got him a wetsuit he was fine, infact you can't get him out of the water. Guest guest
, Storm wears a wetsuit (shorts and short sleeves) to swim in to help keep his body heat in! There are several RSS kids who do this as to not loose calories from shivering! Would your son do this? Just a thought. Also, Karate is a good sport for these little guys. It's boyish enough, it's pretty much one on one and they move up at their own pace. Just a couple of ideas! Guest guest
Carmen, Where do you get Storm's wetsuit? I would love to get one for . However, he is only 15 months and wearing a size 3-6 month. Any suggestions? Thanks, Judith, Steve, (RSS) and > , > Storm wears a wetsuit (shorts and short sleeves) to swim in to help keep his body heat in! Guest guest
Yes, I get the impression is about the size of an average 6-7 year old RSS child. So extremely small for 12! I will try it out with the swim cap or wet suit. It's definitely worth the try. Thanks for the idea. I'm not sure about karate. I can't see him compete against kids his age and definitely not kids his size. Or am I seeing this wrong? > Hi , > > It does sound as if is on the really small side.
